By far the lightest V8 Pony Car in the 2024 model year.

I agree, those pics really make it look good.

I can't get passed the screens. Hate the new trend, they just look like an afterthought and not built in to the dash at all.

I like some of the interior, improved door cards and nice seats, but overall not impressed.

Or as a compliment, a final nod to a superior muscle car destroyed by circumstance.

I wonder if that curb weight is officially confirmed in that motor trend article. Also I had no idea the coyote had a longer stroke than the lt1.

It is a refreshed Mustang. Looks great and they improved the performance, interior and supposedly the handling as well. It is a shame there is no refreshed 2024 Camaro with improved visibility, new interior and a 500hp LT2 from the C8.

Most buyers aren't taking their cars to the track and don't care about a couple 10ths to 60mph and 1/4mile. This car should sell like crazy considering the lack of competition and Ford is taking a more sensible approach to the market and offering both ICE and EV products that appeal to a broader customer base. What a concept...

It doesnt look that bad, much better than the previous. Problem is to get a TREMEC and leather seats im going to be spending close to 60k with a mustang dark horse/mach1. My 2SS costs me 48k and thats with the 1k copper brakes I was forced to buy and excluding my supplier discount. Even then I arugably still have bigger brakes, better cooling, and handling than a mach1 equivalent. If im going to spend that much I'll get a ZL1.
I appreciate Ford for keeping them around, but I bet their margin is pretty high thats why they did.

One article calls it the same weight as current gen car and Motortrend seems to be using the same numbers, however, that 3730 lbs is for a naked no option barebones manual gt. My S550 performance pack 1 back in the day scaled over 3820 lbs plus the new components and electronics in the S650, my guess is a PP car will tip the scales around 3850+ lbs. Now the dark horse model with wider wheels, more rubber, more coolers, i can tell you that it might hit 3900 lbs.

My buddy's gt350 tips the scales at 3920 with 3/4 tank of fuel by way of comparison.
Since the mach/dark horse most likely shares some of those components i think 4000lb is likely due to all of the new tech and interior material upgrades.

I wouldn't be surprised. The days of lightweight cars are over unless you prefer a Miata, which is a ton of fun to drive by the way. Anyway, the last lightweight 400hp V8 sport car I owned was a 2002 C5 Z06. That is one car I owned that I would like back. Just imagine if these 500hp cars were 3000lbs again. They would be an absolute riot.
