Was there a lot more noise with it removed?

Not that I could tell...just a lot warmer to the touch than with the cover on.

Installed the Ported Throttle Body today and installed new battery at the same time, I used a torque wrench but I ended up stopping at 95 Inch pounds ( Spec is 106 Inch pounds ) since it really felt like it was getting tight. Car started right up but the RPM gauge was gong crazy and I had an ABS and Service Power steering warning message on dash. I unplugged the MAF and TB Plug and plugged them back in and everything went away.

BO's work looks great and working with him was very easy. Thanks again BO.

I can't say how it works on the road as it is finally raining here so it will be a few days before I get the car out.

Let me know how it runs without a tune. I just Cam'd my car and ROD-MOD w ported tb will be the next little mod over the winter.

I thought the rod mod/ throttle body combo was money well spent.

Made 450/420 on stock intake and throttle body.

Made 460/435 rod mod/ported TB and carried the power out further rather than falling off.

Ashen That was the only change? Hopefully they send me a good one, It was easier to buy a core from them but it is actually cheaper to buy a new one from GM and send it to them.

The Throttle Body works well, the throttle does feel more crisp from the short trip I tried it on.

My Ported Rod mod intake came in a lot sooner than i was expecting, It appears they sent me a Brand new intake, It cam in a GM box and there is not a mark on it and even the inserts do not seem like there ever was a bolt in them and the gaskets all appear new. I Paid for them to send me a Intake ( I was told they send trade ins out ) because I wanted to keep mine, i was going to by a new one and send it to them but I am glad I just let them do it.

I have not installed it yet but I plan to in the next couple weeks.

I have the Heat Shield to install still on the Bottom of the intake.

When I bought a new manifold gasket set it actually came with new foam pads to put underneath the intake. But I don't know what order to put the pads on and heat shield or if you even need one or the other.

If they are needed I would think it would go on after heat shield. If I pull my intake and it has them I guess I'll put them on.
