It’s not as bad as some of you other guys in Houston but it’s high for our standards. Here’s my recent fill-ups from October 2021 to current

These are with 5-10¢ off

USD 5.82 for regular. I haven't made any changes to driving habits with my Camaro for my '16 Malibu daily driver. 100% WFH helps a lot though.

BTW anyone that tells you that if we only did X, then Y gasoline price would drop, is pandering to your wishful thinking...''as seen on TV".

Fact 1: Oil and gasoline prices are up globally, not just in America
Fact 2. The US cannot unilaterally lower the the price of gasoline...it's a globally traded commodity

Globally, yes, so you agree there is some influence from world economical forum?
IDK, looks like most of the oil is ours.

Supply goes down, price goes up. Pretty basic. No more Keystone, no more permits, hostile regulatory and lending environment for energy producers - we’ve cut supply, prices went up.

Add in a couple of trillion increase in the money supply and you get inflation. Again very basic, very predictable.

This will make you happy, or not, energy prices are very forward looking, tons of futures trading/betting/hedging. If the regulatory/political environment signals friendliness towards energy producers you’ll see an immediate drop in prices, and the reverse.

The US is a net exporter of petroleum. When global prices go up, it makes sense for US producers to sell more outside the US than to deploy more in the US to reduce prices.

Not only is the US a net exporter, but in 2021 the US was the #1 producer of oil. The prices we are seeing at the pump are because of the global cost of oil, not domestic policy. Don’t believe me? Just go “Hey Siri (or Alexa) what country produced the most oil in 2021?”

Prices began going up the day Biden shutdown the Pipeline.

Clearly the current administration thinks the problem is too little supply. Otherwise why would they be tapping the reserve and asking Saudi Arabia and Venezuela to pump more?

If the rules of this forum meant anything, this post (and many others like it), would be deleted by the admins. Since they aren't being deleted, I have to assume the rules are just window dressing.

...or maybe the admins don't have the manpower to monitor this forum they maintain for us for free 24/7 (as it's Saturday btw)?

It has been deleted. At this point it only lives in your quotation of it. Unless, of course, you edit your post .

Nice try at attempting to shame calling the issue out. If that particular post has been deleted it is the exception. A lot of political name calling posts remain on this and other threads.
