I love Camaros... I can buy several if I want, but will never pay more than 50,000 for one... even if it has 70000000000000 HP.

10 years from now the BASE V8 will be $50,000... that's just inflation alone.

That just proves how refined the chassis is compared to other cars. My little cam only ls1 cant hook up at all in first and second and anything under 100mph if the roads are wet. But my chassis is basically from the 70's..lol

From what I've read there's a lot of wrong information here! I own a '16 Z06 and my brother has a '14 ZL1, also previously owned a 675hp cts-v. The Z06 is going to put power down significantly better and more efficiently. With the standard super sport tires after I drive for about 10-15 I can start flooring it and after a few test hits and tires slipping the car starts hooking. I can usually hook from a roll in first gear and for sure in second (I have the A8.). My brothers ZL1 doesn't hook well at all comparatively, usually takes 2nd or 3rd gear. I expect the new ZL1 with the new tires and A10 should hook better and be in-between the previous ZL1 and current Z06. The wider tires and transfer of power is the difference. The Z06 is 50/50 weight were as the SS is 54/46 and I bet the ZL1 well be about 55/45. The more weight over those rear tires is where you want it.

You bought a Huracan and don't see the new ZL1 as a value at just over $60K?

People always talk about no traction until 50 or 60...I don't get it. I have a blower on my G8 GT, running a bit more boost than the stock kit, intake, exhaust, small cam. Definitely faster than a stock ZL1 (5th gen). 285/30/20" tires and only have 1st gear traction problems from a stop or if I kick it down from about 25 or less. Anything in 2nd gear or higher and it just goes, unless it's cold or wet. Elevation is around 900 here. A lot of people talk about lack of traction. I think a lot of them are full of crap. |
