Opening day

How come no one has wished us a happy opening day
Today to order a 24'. I have been waiting for people
To dump their 23 zl1s for the 24' thinking i might get
A good deal but it doesnt look that way. So for the
Fun of it i looked into buying new, 1.6% for 7 years came
Out to $1100 mo. I could get a c8 for that, lacking the performance
But have the wow factor. Then i realized it would have to be my
Daily driver and i live 9 miles to work at 40mph tops. I just need
To dream about the zl1 and keep my $$.

You don't drive in the evening or on the weekends? I live 1.8 miles from work and own a Camaro. Many times I just take the "Long Way" ends up being just over 20 miles one way.

I doubt there will be many people selling until they are certain their order is accepted. I want a 2024 but dont want to sell my 2020 first only to be without either car.

Today was NOT First Day to Order. The Build and Price function at Chevy.com only includes 2023s and dealers cannot yet send in orders for 2024s. The real dates for 2024 order acceptance and factory startup are To Be Determined, according to Donlen.

There’s a difference between ordering a car at the dealer and having the order processed and accepted into the official Chevrolet ordering system. So, I guess I could say that my ‘24 2SS is ordered, but I know it’s sitting with a couple of dozen other Camaro orders from the dealer, waiting for the system to accept them. Note that Gearhead used the word “preliminary” in the other thread, which is very important. He’s a great resource, and he’s pretty careful with how he describes things, but you’ll make yourself crazy if you try to translate what he says to fit your own interpretation. I have the same pieces of paper for my 2SS that he showed for a CE, but at this stage, with allocations for 2024 not yet known, they’re just something to look at and daydream about for now.

It’s a stupid system, and there’s no reason Chevrolet can’t meet the dates for stuff like this it released earlier.
I placed an order today - have an accepted order and workbench number. Now to just wait for allocation......

typo on the 1.6 its 6% depending on where you go. Some also show the gas guzzler tax at $1300 and some dont. Regardless, its still works out to around $1200 mo for seven years. ouch!

I ordered opening day and it hasn't been accepted yet. Is that unusual? Thanks

It is very much expected for a 2024. Your order is preliminary, it will only be accepted by GM (status code 2000) once a dealer allocation is spent on your vehicle, and these allocations have become very scarce.
