Non car people that think they know cars

I have my camaro and a tdi jetta... First i was talking to an older man. Early 70's. He said he would put up his 4 cyl buick up against anything on the autobahn because his car was designed by germans.... I offered to put that up against my camaro. He said he would do it.. Then some how we move to fuel mileage. A guy that is 40 years old drives a crew cab short bed f250. Power stroke. Maybe. A 2010 ish. Very nice truck. He told me he got 38 mpg's going from pittsburgh to south catolina. I had to walk out of the building because of the stupidity. I vant take people that dont know cars and pretend to. I dont pretend to know computers. So i ask for help all the time. Etc etc. Just venting

Maybe you did not specify it was a speed race and he wanted to do a distance race in that case you are screwed http://www.gizmag.com/tank-diesel-di...-record/22488/.

Now the Diesel truck getting that kind of mileage isn't that hard to believe either - I had a 2010 Dodge Ram Diesel that got somewhere in the neighborhood of 1600 miles on its first GALLON of fuel (it was hauled in by rail) but it covered that distance lol

There are just as many car people that don't know cars.

Somebody tried to tell me that the WRX in a Subaru stands for "Works". I walked away.

"Consumer Reports" is a publication that epitomizes people who don't know the first thing about cars beyond the go pedal and the stop pedal, yet provides "guidance" to people who know even less about cars.
