I got about two acres and bought a heavily used 98' John Deere 455 diesel 3 years ago. 60" deck makes things easy. Zero problems. Standard maintenance, and it should still be operating 30 years from now. I can't wait to get a snow blower atachment for this thing! No more getting stuck in my driveway.

don't buy a $1500 tractor and expect to push any amount of snow. I have a JD L118 (bought from JD dealer)... paid $2k for it 10 years ago. TOO light to have any traction to push heavy snow. Too small of a blade to make it a fast process. Took me way too long to clear a 16x100 driveway... and- once you get piles of snow next to the driveway, you cannot push new snow over it... or move the old snow (after it sets up hard). It works good as a lawn mower... I would recommend finding the largest mower deck you can for your size of yard.

I use a Husqvarna tractor for cutting my 1-1/2 acre property, have had no issues with it very dependable . bought it new ,now 3yrs old. For snow removal I have a 562 diesel Belarus 4x4 tractor with an 8 ft blower, also used for grading , and log splitting. it's a 1965 and still runs great !
