Spintech 9000

I added spintech 9000 to my L99 today. I have full exhaust and just changed out my mufflers. Overall i think they sound good but at a start and about 2K RPM, they have this terrible raspy/metallic sounds. I think thats the only thing keeping me from loving them but it is a big thing. Any idea what is causing it and how to get rid?

It's just how the muffler is designed. Kind of similar to flow masters. Really no packing in there to get rid of the high pitch sound, that's why it sounds a little raspy. You can ad a mid muffler to get rid of that.

I remember when I had flowmaster super 10s on my G8. Sounded good at idle, but once u get moving they sounded raspy. I ended up swapping them out to dynomax mufflers. Sounds killer, but they droned like crazy. Maybe use those as a mid muffler to kill the raspiness.

Thanks for responding man. I’ll look into that. I kept my old mufflers just in case. I’m going to leave them on for a bit to see if i can get used to them. Like you said, they sound great at idle. I’m curious of the sound from the outside while driving.

Magnaflow has some.... or you can do the dynomax bullet mufflers as a mid muffler.

This is the one a lot of folks go with. I had one installed for a bit when I was straight piped. Did a good job. Then I purchased a quality vat back system and sold the muffler to a forum member. They liked it.

J pipes tune out specific frequencies, and kill the drone. From what I've read, you need a specific length. I believe there's adjustable ones out there.

Thats sounds great. Thats with the dynamax mufflers? I did talk to my guy at my shop and he said he thinks the bullets could be good. Said that MF are great but they are a bugger name and just simply cost more
