Add side vents?
What do you guys think about these side vents? This is someone else's car. Her father can add these to mine and paint them for a couple hundred.
They are semi functional.

Not bad, but you can't beat Gary's customs.

agreed, but for a couple hundred? is that total?? i like them, especially if at least somewhat functional. wouldn't mind doing them myself, except i can think i can get more benefit for the money with something else
edit: slight difference between the two pics...if you do it, i'd say get them blended into the body. not like in the first pic where you can still see the piece standing out. Last edited by OzzySS; 03-03-2014 at 02:14 AM. Reason: pictures |

I do agree with OzzySS...If you do it you have to do the second pictures ones. The first picture looks like they are tacked on.

Agree with OzzySS and Dropspeed, the blended ones look more original and not such an after thought. Would love a set myself but i can't cut up my baby. She would never forgive me and then where would i be.

Sometimes, less is more. I like the look out of the factory. Be careful it doesn't get too "busy". GM designers spend a lot of time on these things to make them right the first time. Personalize - yes, just be careful.
IMO

Never been a fan of front fender vents unless they are longer. These look like they are trying to mimic the 63-64 corvette side indentions, even though those were not functional.

Add side vents?
Just an FYI for everyone, the set in the second pic are functional if you make provisions in the fender wells. In addition, you don't have to cut up your stock fenders Gary will simply modify another OEM set and send them out to you (even color matched if you want).

I like them but I also have them. Very easy to install. Cutting the hole wasn't that bad.

I always wanted the 3dCarbon Vents (top pic) but I was never sure how they would look since they don't sit flush..
I'd have to see one in person. In pictures they look pretty cool though.

As of now the 3DCarbon side vents shown on the pictures above are most affordable side-vents mod... costing you probably $166 for the vents if you get them from ebay and painted and installed another $150 so for $310 total. Where as the other picture with them custom cut, and made looks very nice but also costs $1300 with that custom work and paint..
I like the 3DCarbon vents like I said affordable mod, and IMO looks very nice when added in combo with, like the Razi skirts and front slipper like "angie7" Camaro show above... that is just beautiful looking combo right there... This is definitely on my list do to |
