I for one am eager to see how well it performs vs. the upside down pickup truck bed.

Yes, keep this updated with the performance changes vs the hole - and also consider modifying it aesthetically.

I'm interested in how it performs as well. Would like to see the aero on the front end too. With that much rear down force I'd think it would understeer.

I wouldn't mind having the entire under pan from front to rear without the beard trimmer. Something like ASC makes for the 5th gen.

This topic has been beaten to death by the Spec Miata and other Miata racing crowd. The idea of the parachute effect was disproven by CFD. The bumper acts just like a pickup bed with the tailgate up. Air recirculates there and oncoming air flows over the recirculating bubble. The advantage of the diffuser is more for downforce than anything. Should be the similar for the Camaro as well.

Most of those discussions revolved around simply cutting the bumper, not adding a diffuser. And CFD is not absolute. I've only seen one thread where a guy did any coast down testing, and it wasn't all that difinitive, IIRC.

A proper diffuser will reduce drag and increase the effectiveness of a wing... the question is the quantification of the results.

My comment was really directed at the notion of the bumper causing a parachute effect. I wasn't denying the advantages of cutting the bumper and adding a diffuser. No simulation is perfect, but CFD puts you in the ballpark, I'm aware of it's pros/cons.

You can tell the guys who hard park vs. drive hard here.

Looks solid - are you able to test it independently of other changes to see the impact?

Planning on any flowviz or strings and cameras?

Well it held on and we won our class at Road Atlanta, I'm going to say testing was successful.

Driver said the car felt better than ever, so I dunno. We'll leave it on unless we're presented with a reason not to.
