CotA PDR - Killed a GT350R, GT500, and a bunch of BMWs

This was really the first session of the day as the actual first session got red flagged on lap 1 due to a Mustang crashing into the wall (go figure).

Made a few mistakes as I was still getting warmed up for the day. Fastest lap was a 2:36.

Here are some flybys down the front straight, too.

Awesome!

How did you time your laps? It didn’t seem like you marked start/finish on PDR.

Is it generally acceptable to straddle (wheels completely over) the rumble strips on the corners?

Just timed it with a stop watch as I forgot to mark the finish line.

The track was setup in "motorcycle configuration" which removes the giant speed humps from the apexes of the corners. My general rule of thumb is, as long as 2 wheels are on the track, it's legit. Same rules apply in Formula 1.

Ah! That explains it! I coulda swore a few of those corners used to have the big yellow turtle shell bumps. Glad I’m not losing my mind.

Great lines.

Nice driving. You definitely made good use of the curbing width through the esses
When the Stang did NOT.

Cool vid! I could only get a 2:38 out of my neighbors stock Boxster S at COTA. Really fun track!

Car is showroom stock from tires, fluids, brakes, alignment, etc with the only mod being a Roto-Fab CAI.

However, brake pads and tires are about done for, so I'll be swapping those out and getting an alignment for the new season.

Was 40 degrees that day. The Cup 2 tires he was using had no temperature in them. This is what caused another GT350R to crash into the wall during the first session.

I like the straight line stuff but that was pretty cool.

Newbie question, the C7 was driving with his top down, is that an instructors car ? I would think that wouldn't be permissible otherwise.
