key sticking in ignition
key is sticking in the ignition on my 2015 RS.i have to shift back into gear after restarting the car then go into park and turn it off in order to remove the key.this happened before under warranty and the dealer replaced the shifter, but now its out of warranty and i dont feel like being soaked for 5-6 hundred bucks every two years.i remember a thread concerning removing the plastic collar around the steering column and clipping a wire or removing a pin but cant find the tread now.also wondering if i need to disconnect the battery before removing the plastic around the wheel so i dont set off the airbags by accident.anybody remember this thread?

Pull the cover around the ignition switch and simply unplug the lock out solenoid. The switch on the shifter is worn. You can also simply put your hand on the shifter and move the release button a hair and it will unlock. Don't move the shifter just the release button.

Mine turned out to be the thing in the console that tells it it’s in park. Had to have it replaced.

First we had to worry about key staying in the ignition, now the damn thing won't come out.

Mine started to do that as well. I did what this guy did and now no more problems and get this it was a free repair.
