See if the owner has documents to explain the accident. If it was just a bumper or tire, I'd buy it. Just put it on a lift and check it out.

To clarify, car is at a Benz dealership. Previous owner is an nfl player and traded it in on some 140k car. No documentation on repairs.

I'm looking for feedback on value(price) as well.......

1. I would consider buying it if "they put it on a lift for me to inspect under it"

2. $48k highest with the blight on the carfax no matter how perfect it appears

3. Clean carfax like this with only 4300 miles are likely to bring 53-54K according to KBB

Go to edmunds .Com and enter the vehicles information . Edmunds is much more of a buyers resource .

I would consider buying it
45k range for me plus ttl
Nearly everything on these vehicles can be switched out subframe etc

I would ask them to allow you to take it to a certified mechanic at a chevy dealer and let them take a look. Of course on your dime.

hey now,

i just bought a used 13 zl1 on 3jan13 with 18500 miles. the options are nav, carbon fiber insert, suede steering wheel and 6 speed auto. the price was 46,300 it was in the auto trader at around 49,000. this car also has from the previous owner installed on it window tint, a carbon fiber k and n cold air kit, front and back carbon fiber bow ties, carbon fiber tail light trim and carbon fiber gauge trim, vent above mylink and around the shifter . so this car is very carbon fiberish. but all the owner installed stuff does not go toward the price of the car, dealerships dont care about that at trade in so dont include those in your offer.
i am thinking they probably only gave the previous owner 40,000 as a trade in value if that but i dont know for sure. there was a carfax on this car as well and it said that the rear side marker light was busted but it was replaced ($79.00) the whole car looks great. this was a bmw dealership and they said it was some how true tested it to be free from any damage under the car. all tho one of the rims had curb rash that i touched up myself.

ask if they guarantee for the car to have no structural damage under it. i would guess 45 grand a great price 47,500 a good price and 50,000 an ok price. any thing over 50 and you just might want to look at a new one. as for you buying it, i dont know whats best for you. but i would if the price is right.

thanks for letting me ramble on about my car, i love it.

But I have to be honest with myself. If I want to get into a zl1 it's going to be used. And mylink is a requirement if I get a camaro. Also, if I get a zl1 it would likely be auto

So I'm looking for a 2013 zl1 auto for under or around 45k.....

Due able?
Cars that are wrecked and repair through a good certified bodyshop will make the car like new. Make an offer on it and see if they oblige. I wouldn't be scared as far as the wreck, just do your homework. Can I ask why auto?

I'm a sales guy who works from home mostly. I was told by my vp of sales to expect and plan for a promotion after q1 this year. With the added responsibility I'll need to be driving into the city more often. Traffic is horrible in dc and an auto will be helpful.

I'm still open to maual. If I end up getting a other 1le it will be manual.....it's much more fun

Got it. Honestly Id stick with the 1LE, I am a bit surprised with the issues with the ZL1. The supercharger issues and driveline complaints of the ZL1 scares the pee pee out of me.

Personally. I stay away from any car with a CarFax record showing accident of any kind. Why.... (granted just one opinion)....at some time you will go to sell that car and a clean CarFax is like gold. If you ever traded to another dealer they will kill you on trade-in value, and to the private lookers they will just bypass totally.

See what you can find out there and just take the time, they can be found.

Or better put. Come the day when you sell the car, and its yours or another car as the choice. If it were you would you take the car that says "Clean Carfax" or the one that does not....
