New Owner from Down Under: Sydney Australia

Hi everyone,
I have just bought a new 2SS Camaro last week and I am loving it! Never before have I indulged myself in a new car based on emotion rather than practicality! My kids have grown up so I thought do while I can enjoy it! I thought I would only want the manual but after driving the 10 speed auto and considering all the options, I went in that direction.
I have always been a "Holden" man (General Motors) and I also have a 1977 Holden Torana SLR5000 in the garage which is a classic Aussie muscle car. It has a heavily worked V8 with about 300hp but wow, the Camaro puts it to shame! I guess that is modern muscle (and an extra 155hp!). My hardest decision now is which car to take out on a nice day!

My only complaint so far is the constant orange passenger air bag light which stays on all the time and is very distracting day and night. Is that normal?

Congrats and welcome!! Very sharp looking ride!

I hope to make it back to Australia some day. We loved visiting - great people, food, weather and lots of beautiful country to see.

Thanks everyone

Thanks for all the kind word people! I need to work out the system settings as I am not getting any email notifications!

Yes they call it the lucky country for a reason: 21c in the middle of Winter, not bad weather for cruising or a cold beer while sitting back looking at my cars (take your pick!)!
As a car nut I tend to give the footy a miss until "State of Origin" time when Queensland and NSW can get very sensitive! I prefer the motor sports, F1, MotoGP and V8 Supercar racing we have here.
I look forward to bring the Camaro out to the track too!

G'day Mark! CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
