Same here. I used to mix 100 with 93 for my previous car. For those with access to 100 octane at the pump, I would call the station and ask these questions;

- What brand race fuel is currently in the pump?
There was a Sunoco sticker on the pump at my local station, but I found out Renegade fuel was actually in the pump when I asked.

- Is it unleaded?
Most will have both leaded and unleaded at the pump; but don't assume it's unleaded. Ask to confirm. Leaded gas is NOT good for any new car and will ruin 02's very quickly among other potential issues.

- What is the Motor Octane of the gas?
This is the most important octane rating for any fuel. The higher, the better and more resistant to detonation (important when running a boosted motor in hot ambient temps). Each brand is different so that's why it's important to know the fuel brand. Most stations won't have the fuel specs on hand, but you can find out on the racing fuel company's website.

There are 3 octanes rating which is confusing; Pump or Formula, Motor and Research. Formula is the number displayed on the pump which is Motor + Research /2 and is usually higher than Motor. It's not that critical at stock hp levels; but a fuel with a higher Motor Octane will require less mixing to achieve the desired octane so you can save some money.

Sorry for the long post.

Check the price, it all depends on when you buy it. Where do you get VP and how much?

100 is about $3 a gal more so if you figure that. 100 is 1/2 the price of Torco.

I have all the 100 LL I want, but I think that would not work.

This won't work as the 10% OD and CAI make about 12psi. Now, when testing using Torco, bringing octane up to 98, you could run the Roto-fab CAI and 10% OD without tuning and without the knock retard. It scaled through all the fuel maps without a hitch and A/F ratio was fine.
I do not remember, but can we run the CAI and 5% at 91 with not tune? I bought the 5% he used for the test.

6.99gal for 100/ Rocket Brand Racing Fuel.

They sell VP at the pump at some locations, not 100% sure of the price. They sell it when you get closer to Lake Mead..

4 g 100 at $7.= $28 14 g 91 at $4 = $56. Total $84.

18 g 91. At $4 =$72. $15 Torco. Total $87

I think it would be about the same if not lower if Torco in bulk.

No local retailers for Torco, I have to order it out of state. If it were $15 for 32oz local buy, then I'd do it. +Shipping costs.... If Totco was hands down better than blending then is spend the extra $$.. That's why I'm asking around.

You do not need 32oz for 91 to 93 with 18 g. It is less

Yes I understand on shipping, but you also have to drive to a gas station.

I buy 5 gallons of Torco for $275 delivered. Use 32oz per 15 gallons of 91 octane to boost to 98+. So it cost about 0.92 cents to make one gallon of 91 octane into 98 with Torco, which equates to about $4.50/gallon of 98 octane (fuel + Torco) in Cali right now. How much is the 100 octane at pump?

See my above post, it's $13.75 per 32oz when purchased in 5 gallon drum. That is shipped.
