Borla S Type 140687 Install P12F0 P069E CEL

Had the S Type Borla installed (model 140687).

Next day the CEL comes on (P12F0 and P069E, among others).

Any idea what is going on?

Car still drives, but it does feel a little rough at certain speeds.

I have the same exhaust setup except it’s the atak with no afm valves and got the same code p069e, when I had my car cammed I brought it to my shops attention and they monitored the fuel pressure throughout the dyno runs and said everything was normal, for whatever reason hp tuners wasn’t letting them tune out the code, they sent out a trouble ticket to them and are now waiting to hear back.

I see you are on AZ, where did you get your exhaust work done?

Is it cat back or axle back? It seems like these problems happen typically with cat back. Probably exhaust leak. Go back and tighten the bolts first.

Did you have your car done at cordes? I think I might have seen it there, I had my headers and exhaust done by black market racing.

Is your car an Auto with factory NPP? If it is, then the Borla system you have installed will throw codes because the NPP valves are not installed. I am not sure if the M6 will throw codes for that or not. Unfortunately, Borla was having issues with their AFM valve and might not have the correct X-Pipe available for you right now, you will have to call them and ask.

Yep. They failed you. Should have warned you about the AFM valve.

I am getting that.

I asked if NPP would still work, and was told it would (it doesn't on this model).

"Thanks Steve - so do I need anything else to get my NPP to work after install?

In other words, do I just do a straight swap and everything will work?"

"I accutally havent fitted the atak myself personally but it should be a straight swap over sir"

Not a happy camper today.

-----

Spoke to Borla, and yep, I have the wrong application. I will need a tune to remove the codes.

Cordes wasnt able to remove my codes for the p069e, they had to reach out to hp tuners and file a trouble ticket to see why it wasnt clearing the code.

To be fair, this is listed in the product description on the Borla website:

Does not include NPP Valves. This system has dual tips and will fit the vehicles equipped with Dual Mode Exhaust (NPP), but it does not include Dual Mode valves and is intended for vehicles with significant upgrades that require a larger diameter exhaust.

True - but I should also be able to trust that the company selling the product will disclose that type of information and recommend the correct product.
