Yes or No

I found a 2012 2SS/RS for 20k It has 42000 miles on it. The car fax says that it has had 5 owners. It was also a rental and then owned personally. I haven't went and looked at it yet but, just a little leary of a car that's been a rental. If something major happen to it after I bought it, it probably would have to sit depending on how much it would cost to get it fixed If anybody has bought one like this before let me know what to look for, thanks for the info in advance

If it were me, Id say no. I have seen how most rentals are treated, especially high performance ones, and more than likely its been beaten on pretty bad. I would also be leery of it having 5 previous owners.

I'd say no. I worked for a rental car company for a couple years. The employees treat the cars worse than the customers.

Oh the stories I could tell.....

Rent car and way too many owners. Find another one. But I think you know that.

There's dozens of Camaros out there for sale. Run away.

I wouldn't say No just because it's a rental. My 2011 was a rental and I've had 126k trouble free miles and it's still going strong. The high owner count would concern me though.. Take a pass on this one.

The number of owners is a bigger issue for me than the rental.

The high amount of owners could be auction sales, but if you're concerned about reliability I would pass...

No, I'd never spend $20k on a car that is already almost halfway to 100k miles. Better deals can be had.

Sorry to rock the boat, but after spending most of my life SWEARING that I would never buy a prior rental car (the inhumane things that I have to the cars myself was enough to scare me off), but, ended up finding deals that I could not pass up... twice.

Both of the prior rentals I have purchased turned out to be really solid, really dependable, really good in every way. The rental company reconditioned each before sale, and they looked/ drove/ smelled/ performed like brand- new.

My positive experiences does not guarantee that everybody else's will be the same... or that if I buy another, it'll be great. But... as somebody who has purchased two of them, I can certainly testify that just because it was once a rental, it doesn't mean that it's now a lemon. Get the car thoroughly inspected, as with any used car purchase, but don't disregard it JUST because it was once a rental.

Don't scoff at it because it was a rental (Hertz). I bought a 15 2SS RS convertible for my wife for $26,000. It had 23,000 miles and was in perfect condition. It still had 18 months of the 36 month warranty left.
