Trunk will not open

My trunk will not open. I hit the button on the remote and in the car and I here a click but the trunk does not open. Tried pushing the trunk down and pushing the button. I climbed in the trunk and pulled the emergency handle and nothing happens. Anyone have any other suggestions?

i'm guessing with 101 post you just didn't get this SS, so I suggest getting into the trunk and taking off the liner and unscrew the lock? I would guess that's the only option.

Your trunk lid latch has gone bad. You'll have to have it replaced.

Tell the trunk monkey to stop monkeying around and let the trunk lid go up - NOW!

It could be low voltage level. Mine will do that if the car sits for a couple weeks.

Try to use a battery charger overnight and try in morning. If it works then it'/ time for battery/maybe alternator

I still wish Chevy would have included mechanical key cylinders for the trunk and passenger door.

I tried it every way possible car running, ignition on everything I can think of. Does someone have a pic of the lock with the liner off so I can see the lock. I am a big guy so climbing in the trunk and unbolting it is not going to be fun. So th pic may be helpful. I also have a subwoofer in there which does not help.

Thanks for the replies. Does anyone have a pick of the lock assembly without the liner in place? I am a big guy and there is a subwoofer box in the trunk so the pic may help me have the proper tools once I climb in there.

had to break the tailight lens on my sons honda del sol to get into the trunk yesterday.its a 2 seat sporty car with a solid steel wall between passenger compartment and trunk so there was no other way.once the remnants of the light were unbolted and removed he was able to reach in and trip the latch.not an ideal solution since theres a way through by folding down the back seat in our cars though.know anybody smaller who could be persuaded to do it for you?

I just went and looked at my trunk latch. I don't think you'll be able to remove the liner without either tearing it up.

However, I did notice that near the latch area, on the interior of the trunk lid, there is a hole that sort of appears to be a 1/4" drive "keyhole." I am guessing that if you were to use a flathead screwdriver that fits into the hole just right, or better, if you have a 1/4" accessory head on a screwdriver (like a nut driver?), then I'm guessing it will manually pop the trunk.

I'll try to post pics... having some connection issues right now.
