Data, detailed road track metrics results, and Randy P. vids will be revealed later.... Ford Performance is still currently doing the North American GT350 Track Tours for for the media and invited guests. The 2015s (all 137) have been built since end of July but none have shipped out yet from FRAP. Heck still waiting for mine too, darnit!

In the meantime we just get to watch the latest teasers such as this from Road America!

Pump up the volume....

That might be the best sounding stock exhaust I have ever heard. I really like what Ford did with this car and the Ford GT. They changed up the formulas and went against the grain.

How exactly did they change the forumla and go against the grain? Seems to me they took the Z/28 forumla and refined it to the next level. Less weight, road course powerplant, and give it a 21st century suspension. Or you just referring to the use of FPC? Definitely a first for modern domestic V8s, but hardly anything new for track focused cars.

I agree sound will be one of the most iconic in history.

Don't forget the wheels.

It's not entirely game changing, but it is a lot of "unusual for domestic sport cars".

And considering it's priced in the 60s, doesn't seem like a terrible value for a new car.

Agree. But still a major change since the new GT350 has plenty of bespoke and unique parts going into it and even more so when compared to previous Shelbys like the late GT500. Heck the FPC engine alone is a significant departure from the norm.

I am confused then.

I thought I argued all that and more.

Just got back from Road America, this thing is a beast. The only complaint I found, and others attested to, is the clutch is very light. We were the third group to drive and the brakes still felt great, no fade, no guessing, just incredible stopping power. I had a GT350, not an R, but the tires still held the road better than I thought they could. After my 3 laps, the instructor takes you for a hot lap, and he pulled more performance out of this than I ever imagined. If you are an average driver this car will make you good, if you are good, this will make you great.

Nice feedback. Sounds like you had a good time! I won't mind a light clutch because the Z06's clutch is pretty light so I'm used to it and the Boss 302 clutch is quite heavy when I compare between the two. Btw, I'm registered for the last stop of the GT350 North American Tour in Sebring (I believe Lime Rock is the next stop after Road America). So obviously I'm excited too!

Although I am still waiting for Flat Rock Plant to start shipping out the 2015 GT350 units (yeah I'm so eager to take delivery already!).... I hope I have the chance to drive the R version in Sebring since mine is a non-R but with the Track package option. This way I can experience the difference even if for just a limited 3-4 lap opportunity. I would've loved to get the R but the ADM's are so ridiculously high.

Nice! Sounds like you had a blast. I think people are going to be shocked by this car (especially the R). Now if I can just convince one of my Mustang buddies to buy one.
