For those of you that use a tonneau cover...

...do you have to deal with this lip that sticks up? I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to make it go down so it is flush with the trim there. This is a genuine GM part. I am at a loss. Maybe just a poor fit? I can't see anything in the slot that is obstructing the flap that sticks down in there.

When you down with your hand what happens? Is the top sticking up a bit there? Is the lip that folds down under the trim edge hitting something?

The top itself seems to recess fully. The lip that slides in there must be hitting something. I just got back from a road trip and the top is still down. I'll go out in the garage here in a bit and give it a closer look. It's been like this since I bought the car last year.

Does that cover have the bungee cord loops to secure to the bungee posts?
This was a fix to keep that top secure from blowing off.

Danial mine does exactly the same thing! Have to be careful crossing the bridge in cross winds as it has lifted out but the bungees held. I’ve thought of adding a 3rd bungee but haven’t looked into it yet…

Yes, this is the style I have.

I think I'll look into a 3rd bungee myself.

Interesting.

I wonder if the issue is as simple as that? The bungee style just may not be designed to cinch it all the way down. I've got to figure something out - it drives me nuts.

Looks like mine is down more in the rear than yours. Maybe try that?
These things are overpriced cheap vinyl “GM gold”
A few hundred dollar fiberglass hard tonneau cover would fix all the issues and look like a million $ compared to these.

I'll take a look at that tonight when I get home. And yes, way over priced, I agree.

Never had a problem with mine. Original clips no bungee. Cross country 2x over 90 mph for periods of time. Never saw it lift, perhaps your top is not folding properly. I push in an down both back an front. Biggest problem I have is the foam cushions that ripped off . Tried glue and tape not good.

Mine with the original clips is iffy with the windows down. Seems to help when they are up. I am looking at put velcro in the spot where yours is high. That should stop it from moving around, just not sure how hard it will be to take off.

Mine does the same. I got up to 100 the other day and had forgot about it. When I saw it fluttering in the rear view I slowed down. But it didn’t fly off. Mine doesn’t have the bungee straps. But I do have a tool to crimp the metal boat cover snaps onto cloth. And I think I’ll do that this weekend.
