Buy a ZL1 now, or...?
Hey guys, what's everyone's current opinion on the current ZL1 (specifically a ZLE) market? Yes, we all know the current state of that world and everyone crazy with the virus, politics, economy, etc.
Just wondering what everyone here thought? Is it a good time to buy, to sell, to "wait and see", whatever your opinion is, feel free to share. Also, for the sake of the conversation, just car talk, no politics or anything like that. FWIW: I am considering picking up a used ZLE. Thanks, Jb

Flip a coin, your guess is as good as mine or any other poster. We are in unchartered times.
I do believe our economy will soar thru the roof once this is over. A lot of people are going to realize life is to short. Get busy living or get busy dying.

If you can do it then buy one! Why wait!

Now is always the best. Action orientation. Before long you’ll be 82 years old. Now is the time. Now is all you have. Do it.

Agree 100% life is too short. If you can afford it get it. Your not going to make money on the car so get it and enjoy it while you can.

Regarding pricing on the 20's
I was at the dealership i go to Saturday as they had new C8 out front and stopped in to see it. I was told after inquiring about a 1LE they had on the lot they would come down to 70k on a 1LE that had a 75k sticker price. I felt like they were about 3k off of where I wanted to be on the price. Get it if you have the means. |

I'm on the fence for options as we speak. I am shopping two 19 ZLE's I'm considering for the 0%, 84 month promotion. Initial debate is whether it's worth going from my 2018 ZL1 to get into a ZLE. One has M6 and one has A10. Wait until tomorrow to see if I qualify for the GM Financial promotion. If I do...decisions, decisions!

I'm in same boat as you, but that 0% is not a true 0%. They take out the incentives/discounts if you go that route. What sort of pricing are you getting on the 19 ZLE? I'm at 73k out the door, i can do a little better I'm sure...but certainly at 70k or above. This is out the door pricing, not selling. For selling it's likely around 66-68k. |

I’m in the market as well. I agree- They’re not moving much on price with 20’ ZLE. Seems like GM should be offering a big rebate vs. the free 84 month money... I’m in wait and see mode.
I do have a couple dealers trying pretty hard to sell me 19’Z’s however, but I’ve got my heart set on black ZLE. |

I would wait at least a month, GM may have better incentives and dealers agreeing to bigger discounts.
If I didn't have a ZLE and I was in the market for a new sportscar, I'd be waiting for a deal on a C8 Corvette. Love my ZLE and waiting to see if there are any issues with the C8, but if didnt have a sportscar I'd be looking at the C8. |

I was toying with the idea of upgrading as well thanks to the 0% offer. Online it says applies to new and used but doesn't say the usual "most models" to omit the good stuff, so it should apply to a used ZLE being sold at a Chevy dealership right?
My biggest problem is getting my 1SS sold first though, something tells me they aren't going to want a modded car on trade. Daily driving a ZLE sounds like a good idea, right? |

Likely a significant savings if you wait a month or two. The economy will be under dire stress as the virus spreads. Car sales are already falling off a cliff. I suspect patience will pay off as the dealers get more hungry for cash flow. Good luck.

It's like drag strip times, there's always someone that does better and always someone that does worse. If you're on here, chances are you look around and do your homework. If you find a price that works with your budget and it won't make you "car poor", go for it. I sold my 2017 SS and while I ate the depreciation, I don't regret the ZL1 one bit.
