Has anyone put these in ?

I called Phastek Performance today about there Empire Black Bowtie Emblem Inserts. The man on the phone said they where easy to put in just lightly drill
the yellow insert to crack it then use a pick to pull it out . He told me that the yellow insert is held in by 3M tape. Then just put in the new inset in that has 3M tape on it . Has anyone done this ? and is it as easy as it sounds ?

I was looking at those same exact bowties but then realized that I could buy 10 cans of plastidip or just 1 can (still more than enough) plus enough beer to kill a small horse for the same price. Plasti-dip honestly looks amazing if you take your time with it and let it dry between layers. I know this doesn't answer your question about those exact bowties, but I would strongly recommend saving the money and using plastidip, you won't be disappointed.

Listen to this guy. I was thinking of doing the exact same thing, buying new bowties, but went with the plasti dip instead and it works wonders and looks awesome. And for like 8$ a can you can't go wrong.

The bowtie inserts on my '14 just popped right out with a tiny screw driver, had some black RTV looking stuff squirted on under it. I took some pretty good satin black paint I already had, cleaned them up, put a few coats of paint on, let dry, and used some black RTV to put them back in. Cost me $0 in new supplies and looks amazing...

Screw those over priced inserts, also I see no way I would have to drill anything on mine, didnt even have to remove the chrome surround, no taping needed either...

You dont even have to tape. Just spray it on and peel off the outer side. The center of the emblem will stay on but the outside will just peel off nicely. I did it 2 days ago.

I had my bowties vinyled at a shop that did custome tint and body graphics, $15. Its a pretty good way to go and a good alternative to the plasti-dip.

I did it. Do it just like he stated. A little unnerving at first. Just drill slow and you only have to go in about 1/4". Break out and remove the gold bowties and put in the CNC'd 6061 aluminum powercoated semi gloss bowties. They stick out a little as shown, which, gives it a slight 3D effect. I like mine. I picked up a set on eBay for $50. You don't have to worry about them fading or peeling and they have more of a quality look then vinyl or plasticdip IMO.

You be the judge. I used PlastiDip. Saved $ and can switch it back later if I don't like it.

Just finished using it on the front chrome strip on the front end also

I have the Heritage grille and don't have to worry about it. In the back on the deck lid I do have the Bow-Tie but can't remember if it's blue or yellow. Not really that important to me...
