Yeah when that happens you gotta put red to black and black to red!
Just kidding and please don’t do that..I’m sure everything is fine from your mistake. Check all the fuses and I’m sure you will find you fried some fuses. The system is designed with fuses as a good safe guard to prevent damage from mistakes like yours . You should be fine once you replace all the blown fuses... if fuses are certainly ok then you need to check the starter and so on so forth...you probably blown delicate sensors. Try also an entirely different battery to because the battery is probably junk now. These cars are very battery sensitive FYI

Did you check all the fuses in ALL the locations?

Don't put the fuses in backwards lol

Sounds like you may have reversed the polarity of the battery. Get a volt meter and check the polarity if you don’t find any fuses blown.

How long did you leave the charger/maintainer on? As other's have said, check and replace any blown fuses. I would also take the batter to a local auto parts store and have it checked; depending on how long you left the charger/maintainer on, you could have damaged if not fried it.

If it's the original battery, I'm sure it's time for a new one. In Florida the heat kills batteries, and normally last about four years. Also make sure you are using an AGM charger. Last year I had to replace batteries in three cars, at about $220 a pop.

Pretty much like Jellyfish wrote....and the others
Stop everything you’re doing and buy a new battery NOW to be on the safe side. Then find a source showing EVERY fuse (just to be 100% sure) and start checking every one on the car. To the best of your ability check every exposed wire. Anything less than sedulous on your part would make you dumbass twice. PS..and thanks for the thread title...I’ll be listening to the Beatles now...not that it’s a bad thing... |

Car itself it likely fine, but I wouldn't use that battery, that's for sure.
Most moden chargers will not allow a charge and will disable charging if polarity is reversed. I know my Diehard maintainer does that. But like said above, check everything and do as Squawk says.

Check all fuses, remove them and verify that there is a small metal piece going across making continuity, that's most likely your problem. If fuses are good, check that the battery is fully charged with multimeter and reads around 12.55 volts. Crank the car a couple times and put the headlights on for a couple of minutes. Check the battery again. Is it still around 12.55 volts? If the voltage dropped a noticable amount, such as from 12.55 to 12.0, your battery is not holding charge good enough and needs to be replaced. Remember that you have multiple fuse boxes. One if under the hood, one is to the left of the steering column and one if in the trunk on the right side behind the carpeting.

Agree other than the getting caught part we use to call that a Saturday night. Please don't ask what we called a good Saturday, not because I wouldn't share just don't really remember anymore
