And I don't think I'm being oversensitive. I'm on an automotive forum to talk about cars, and wasn't happy with one members description of how a car made them feel. All I'd like is for us to treat each other decently. I am frustrated by the need by some to continue to play it off as nonsense that anyone can be offended by such an innocent word, or that I or anyone else who speaks up about it is being "oversensitive" or "soft". I'm anything but. I deal with the worst society has to offer us every day, and maybe that's why I want a more decent environment here.

Gay does mean happy, but not in the context the OP used, plain and simple. He used it as a stereotype, and as such, if I was a gay member of this forum, it would piss me off.

This thread is now closed. You should really try listening when we try to keep things alive. This could have been a discussion on the different rental cars we get when the Camaro's in the shop or how well or poorly our insurance companies take care of us. Instead, we talked about the use of "gay" on the Internet, as if somehow our words would change the minds of those who will still use it the wrong way tomorrow.

Camaro5 is a car forum. Talk about cars. It's literally the only reason we're all here.
