The same way some guys (and ladies) can't imagine buying a Camaro and not getting the eight, is the same way I feel about the RS package...can't imagine not having it.

It's definitely an appearance package and worth every penny.

I like the RS option on my V6 but I must say, I wish they would offer an all season tire option for the 20 inch offset wheels. The Pirellis that ship with it turn to stone when temps fall below 30 degrees. If you need to drive in all seasons the RS package will really run you about $3,000 after you swap out the summer only tires.

What everyone must consider when talking about the RS package is whether they want the Halo/HID headlamps. You can add RS lights to a non-RS car but it's really never the same as if it came from the factory with them. I also think there is a little value in having body color roof ditch moulding as well. If you like the Halo/Hid headlamp's you'd be an idiot not to buy an RS.

The hid's make a big difference in night driving on dark roads. Also the taillights on the 14s & 15s look better with the rs pkg (LEDs). So you can say its all in the lights (rims also for v6).

I like the look of the non rs for the 14s. But I didn't want to be kicking myself either if I didn't the rs. You can add the rs lights, but I would not go with aftermarket, I would have found used parts from a factory rs car that was wrecked or something.

Absolutely. I love my lights. was considering buying a non-RS, and costing the HID install.. Then I smartened up. Love the tails also - I am a much safer (and noticeable) car on the road.

The rims work well for my eye as well. and when winter rolls around ill just drop a set of 18's with winters on it.. I can manage that look for three months.

Yea I see the 18s for sale all the time, wish they would fit on the SS w/o mods.

RS on a v6 also adds about 35mph as the 20" wheels come with the 153mph limiter setting.

I'd take my RS over a non-RS any day of the week!

I think the tailights on a non RS are way more attractive than the obnoxious led's on the RS. Cant beat the rims though. So I bought a set of those.

See there. And apparently holds it's value quite well.

When I was looking I didnt think I needed or wanted the rs package. But glad the car I ended up buying has it.
And when I look for another I will look only at rs models.
my 2 cents

i have a black 2 LT non RS vert. for me, the cost of the RS package would be just halos. to me, not worth it. i didnt want the 20s cause of the summer only tires. i wanted the 19 all season. from a distance, you cant tell the difference if my car had 19 or 20 as i have the same color wheel. there is no ditch roof molding on vert.
i also added the phastek headlite covers, so again, the halos not a big deal to me. i purposly wanted a non rs car, but to each his own. i dont see the value. and on a SS, to me its even less of a value as the SS has the 20s anyway. i think 1400 bucks is alot to just get some different headlites. but, to each his own.
