Can we get the A10 and CCBS on the ZL1-1LE❓
Has the A10 and carbon ceramic brakes been considered for the immediate future of the ZL1 1LE? Thanks in advance!

GM has these parts already. I know it will cost more to have those options. Let's do this.

I would love a factory carbon ceramic kit that would reuse existing calipers!
I believe a 6th Gen Z/28 is in the future that will either come with an A10 or Tremec's new DCT. Hopefully it'll have carbon ceramic brakes that can be fitted to the ZL1. |

I was told that the ZL1 1LE was limited to a manual, and that the same configuration was as close to a Z/28 that GM would produce in the current year.

Hmm. So no interest in these parts?

Staying true to form the 1LE had always been a manual trans track car. I've heard this question asked a few times and the main theme is 1LE is a track specific package and they don't want to just cater to the person with deep pockets who just wants it all included.... A10 with all the track stuff too.
I for one would love to be that guy who has it all. A10 1LE seems like the perfect car. As far as the brakes... I think we have good ones now without all the extra cost, including maintenance costs. |

They're also really heavy. A good set of carbon brakes would reduce rotating mass by ~60 lbs. Carbons are also nice because you don't have to worry about pad transfer, uneven rotor cooling, etc. after coming off the track. A single cool down lap isn't always enough to keep bad things from happening to the iron brakes. Iron brakes are obviously a better choice for most people. GM got that right, but it'd be awesome if GM could offer the carbon ceramics as an accessory for those who want them. |

Had to think about this some. I know that carbon rotors don't tolerate rough handling very well (I think some shops even refuse to deal with them). Something to keep in mind particularly if you're going to be running dedicated track tires & wheels and swapping back and forth with the street wheels/tires.
I do need to think some more about including the A10. My knee-jerk reaction is a solid 'no', at least partly out of concern that doing so represents another nail in the MT's coffin. Norm

I bought the ZL1 for track use. I am not interested in the CCB's because of the replacement cost. That and the iron brakes on the ZL1 work pretty well. If costs were the same or much closer I would definitely want the CCB's. If the ZL1 1LE had come with CCB's I would have opted for the "regular" ZL1.
I love my M6...but if the A10 had been available on the ZL1 1LE I would have bought it. My intended use (One Lap of America, Texas Mile) puts a premium on launching so the A10 would be an advantage there. That and it is just a cool gearbox. My opinion only, I know everyone is different, and having said all of that I am VERY HAPPY with what I have. |

That’s why these should be options. There is money to be made here. A10 and CCBS won’t make it less track worthy. We all know that. Forget the 1LE history too. Corvettes had pop up headlights and round taillights.
Make the A10 and CCBS options. This could make it perfect for SOME people.

Or how about an option of CCBS on the regular ZL1? Once again these are “parts bin” items.”

Ok. So now that we are over the strut brace ordeal maybe we can move on to carbon ceramic brakes and A10 on the ZL1 1LE. Perhaps?
