+1. i have my local dealership ready to have a GM engineer come to Wilmington, NC to ride with me. If GM would just read this real world data it would save them the trip. GM, step up, read from the customers who spend their hard earned $$$$ with you. Fix it now.

Mine doesn't have the shudder (yet), but I'd love to know what gives before it does...

Well it looks like after 9 months and about 4000 miles mine is acting up again. So it looks like another trip to the dealer soon. The did a triple flush, filter change and reprogrammed the computer last time.I really hate having to go through this again.....

+1 I had this show up at 2000 miles on my 2017 SS Fifty. Triple flush and TCM reprogram/reset and the car has been shudder free for 6000 miles.

GM just needs to allow the TCM to be tuned properly and the issue will go away. This is of course before the issues start popping up. All the slipping programmed into these transmissions is eating up clutch packs and causing the converter shudder. Replacing the failed parts without proper tuning is just going to lead to the same issue again. Unless GM redesigns the parts to be able to withstand all the slipping. They really teabagged this transmission.

Hey Al, this guy said it the best. What will it take for GM to pay attention to this?

Wanted to make it easy for GM to read some real world threads about our A8 issues. There are plenty more on here......

Thank you everyone who is chiming in on this!

I just wanted to add two notes that hopefully will get to Al, as KingLT1 noted, some forum members have had a lot of luck tuning their TCM to make the TC lock up 100% at cruising. In addition, a forum member from Chicago said that his dealership was informed that GM is supposedly releasing a revised speed sensor and wiring harness that fixes the issue of the hard/improper shifts which are apparently maybe caused by the speed sensor sending improper data and the A8 not knowing the correct input speed for shifting. I personally experience this on a daily basis, and have had multiple instances where the A8 either shifts at the wrong speed, shifts abruptly, or fails to shift up under hard acceleration. I think a proper tune and/or new speed sensors are both relatively simple fixes to roll out to anyone who is experiencing any of these symptoms, and should certainly be cheaper than GM having to pay lots of $$ for very expensive transmission flushes over and over again or replacing the transmission and/or TC entirely.

I am personally seriously considering trading in/selling my 17 1SS JUST because of the A8 and getting a 2019 just to get into an A10, and would likely lose a lot of money in the process. Please let us know if GM will do something to address these issues/implement these fixes.

It will need to be selected to be in the poll and then get the most votes in the poll. I suspect question #2 is 1-2 weeks out from when Al and team actually receive it.
