2 1/2" or 3" exhaust?
So im ready to change the exhaust on my ls3. Right now im stock, i will be getting LT headers, but my question is i like the sound of the corsa sport but its 2/12" tubing. I was thinking 3" would be the better option but not sure if it would make any difference. What are you guys experience with exhaust or opinions? If i go with corsa sport i will get texas speed 1 7/8" headers. Or if i go the 3" route i will get the xs power system that have LT's.

Btw only mods will be cai, full exhaust, and tune. Future plans would be a cam swap, but not anytime soon.

Duel 2 1/2" will support 600hp-700hp ,so unless you plan on going over those power levels you really don't need 3" .unless your wanting a different sound

This. You have to push a whole hell of a lot of air before 2.5" starts to be detrimental. Sound would be the only difference.

I went to 3.0 exhaust (Hooker Blackheart), and I trap 125.5 right now.

For another comparison I have a full 2 1/2" system and with the cut outs open on the dyno there is no difference in power. Take it for what it's worth but like the others said unless you're making big power 3" will only change the sound at the level you're at now.

I have Stainless Works 3" on my L99. Sounds great, no drone and deep tone under load.

Thanks yea i searched the web and thought that 2 1/2" would not cut it for cammed 6.2L.. I would like the zl1 corsa kit but i do not want to change out the rear diffuser at the moment.

My own gut feeling is that 3.0 is worth doing when making 475-525rwhp like some of us NA guys, but Billy's comment above negates that.
