Codes and ECU reader
Can someone explain to me what a code is? And what an ECU reader does? I saw something about someone getting a Bluetooth OBDII Scanner for like 30 dollars and that seems like a good price for doing whatever it does. I hear people car's "throwing codes" and I have no idea what that means but it sounds bad and I don't want that for my car. Help?
Thanks, Daniel

A code is an alpha-numeric identifier of a problem with your vehicle. The readers are able to get that code out of the cars ECU and with it, you can help diagnose the problem that your car is having. It is kind of a necessary tool with today's computer controlled vehicles. Hope that helps.
