I wonder if there's anything to this...
https://www.tfltruck.com/2018/12/202...ototype-spied/ Really hoping to see updated midsize GM trucks, but as the article states I don't see this as the US spec trucks. For one, it is missing the corner steps in the rear bumper. But I can't understand why they'd test the global version here.

Yeah that's the global-market model. Could be powertrain mules though.

After looking at it closer and comparing it to an image online of the global truck, there is no question it is the global version.

Good deal. I hope it's similar to the original Envoy. My wife's will need to be replaced sometime soon.

I liked the Envoy.
That said...where does it fit in the lineup? I guess between the Acadia and the Yukon? I imagine it being the same size as Acadia, but it will have to grow to Traverse size to make much sense.

Unless the put it on a sub-Terrain sized crossover (ie, a Trax twin).

Seeing some early Ranger reviews pop up. General consensus is that it is competitive if not class leading in most categories.
The Colorado refresh and/or 3rd gen should be very interesting within the next few years. Are they going to skip the MCE?

I like the Ranger. But not really much if any more than the Colorado/Canyon. The Ranger is likely overall class leading at this point, but not by much. An interior/exterior update alone would put it basically even with the Ranger and if they go a step further and make the 2.7 an option I think that makes the GM twins a leader again. They say the Ranger rides nice, but I doubt its much if any better than the GM trucks. One review I read was praising it against the Tacoma, but nothing in regards against the Colorado/Canyon.

Yeah, I was curious though if they'd still refresh it in 2020 when a new MY is expected for 2022. They'll probably slap some LEDs on it, introduce a new wheel, and call it a day until 3rd gen
I'm with you on the 2.7. It's begging to go into this truck although personally I love the 3.6.
