I was given a car to drive while my Mazda was being serviced last year. It used the key fob/push to start setup and I liked it. As long as the fob was inside the car it would start.

I'm funny when it comes to nostalgia. To me it wouldn't feel like a camaro without a key. For any other car a push button start would be ok.

Agree 100%. Also I think the switch blade key is sort of unique and kind of cool.

Push starting always leaves finger/hand prints all over the rear of the car.

I had push starts on both my srt-10 rams, and I liked it. Now, those still required the key to be in the igntion and turned on.

I like the switch blade key, but it also reminds me of my wifes old Jetta key...kind of feels foreign to me

Push to Start is nothing new. My Dad's 1946 Ford Pickup had Push To Start. he disabled it and installed a keyed start system.

My wife's Sentra is keyless. I like it for her because she doesn't have to root around her purse trying to find the keys at night. Just get in and go as long as the key is on her person.

Yes, I've been a dedicated track car, which was push-to-start . . . and it also had a nice simple toggle switch for the ignition and no earthly need for a body control module. Aside from not being at all theft-resistant, I could quite easily live with the "race car" arrangement.

Touch screens and menus are terrible interfaces for controlling things while you're on the move . . . especially if your car is firmly suspended.

Just do a RFID keyfob so it can remain in my pocket and use the proximity sensor to start the car when I push the button if the fob is close enough. Lock the car when I walk away.
And it will then go through an unlock/pause/relock cycle every time you walk past it whether you're going to get in and go somewhere or you're just dumping the trash or about to mow the lawn. "Drive me, drive me, please, please, please", kind of like having a puppy that gets starved for attention too easily.

I don't know why people are so reluctant to adapt changes and evolution of technologies.
When the changes can't accomplish whatever job any better than the way it was done before, exactly what is the point of changing? Appealing to peoples' vanity isn't a reason as much as it's a con job.

I was just driving my brother in laws Volkswagen CC turbo 6speed for the weekend with the push start key. I hated that thing lol. Plus the fact I had a hard time drinking my coffee because I had to change gears makes me appreciate my A6 camaro.

Funny, my wife was getting ready to take the Camaro to work the other day, she had not drivin it since August. Her DD is a Charger RT with push button start. My DD Passat is also push button.

She came back in the house and said she couldn't remember how to start it and asked what the trick was???

I said you just put the key in and start it! Here she was looking all over for the push button. Duh!
