McLeod RXT Vs Monster LT1-S triple
It’s down to these 2. I know the triple has had some very good reviews when it came to drivability and handling the power. Any RXT users care to chime in?

I went with McLeod. Got a good deal on the clutch, and by the time I sourced out a new slave, billet release, bleeder I was only at 1350$
Price was a deciding factor for me.

That looks like a good choice for you and your power level. Keep us informed as to how well it does for you.

Picked up the car today from my friends house. Definitely different from stock. The spring/rebound feeling is totally different. Very close to stock though. No chatter, engages mid way through the pedal engagement. Overall very good. Just need to break it in, and I’ll do another quick review.

Had a chance to put some miles on the clutch. Kind of hard getting used to it. Granted I haven’t been driving it around the city. Quick shifts, and at high RPS are great.

I went with the RXT 1200 when my Centerforce went out a couple years ago. It is a race clutch and it took a while to break it in. Shop told me the best thing was go get caught in bumper to bumper traffic somewhere so I would really use it.
Took about a month to get it softened up a bit but I really like it now. No chattering like the Centerforce. So far it has taken everything I can throw at it. Its a good clutch!

I have the RXT 1200hd as well. Really strong clutch but still has good drivability. This clutch took 4-5k rpm launches and power shifting at 800+hp like it was nothing. Drove through stop and go traffic with no issues as well.
I’ve had a monster clutch before as well, was not a LT1-S Triple though. They have good customer service and took care of me even though my problems had nothing to do with their clutch. Speaking of my problems, which ever clutch you go with get a Billet release bearing support. Before there was a billet bearing support available my plastic bearing support failed and that was the death of my clutch. |
