Tr6060 broken output shaft

What are my options for fixing this? Does someone make a billet output shaft? I cant really find any info. I see shops like rpm do a 9310 output shaft but can i buy the actual part somewhere?

No one will sell just the billet output shaft you have to send in your trans for them to do it. Anyone know if the later stock shafts are stronger? And will it hold up with a later stock shaft and a support bearing added?

Yes the later shafts are stronger. I don't have an answer for your support bearing question though.

RPM will sell you a GForce 9310 shaft, but be prepared to pay up (like $900). On the bright side, it's a kit that comes with the tail housing bearing and the 30 spline yoke.

I called GForce when I found out they made the shaft and they said RPM is the exclusive distributor. I did not call Rockland (rsgear) after talking to GForce, but probably should have as they might have another offering. I know they do sell the tail housing bearing.

While you have it apart, be sure to put in the carbon blockers on gears 1-4, bronze fork pads. and the bronze shifter cup. Also install the Monster billet bearing support on the slave cylinder.

I went ahead and got 30Below to cryotreat all the gears etc. too. <$200 including shipping.

You do all that and you're supposed to be good to 1000HP. Talk to me next year and I'll tell you if it's true.

I emailed rpm, gforce and tick performance. They all said they will not sell me the billet shaft

And how many splines are on the stock shaft? 27? So with the billet shaft i would have to get the yoke machined. Tick said the splines on the same on the gforce shaft. I have a zl1 driveline and it uses a special yoke, but really it is the same as stock just the bolt holes are larger.

That sucks. Guess I got one of the last ones from RPM. GForce makes them in batches for RPM.

They were having breakage with the early 2010 shafts. I was blamed on improper machining or improper heat treating depending on who you listen to. If you get a stock replacement shaft it should be stronger than the faulty ones.

All the shafts will take the tail housing support bearing.

IIRC 28, but it could be 27. I'd have to go dig the old one out to count.

Yoke for GForce shaft and stock are definitely different.

I think they first started making the shafts for the Corvettes and then they got pricey when the Camaro 6060 shafts started breaking. When I was doing my homework, I read through a Corvette thread on the rebuild and his 9310 shaft was 30 spline too. That homework is what led me to GForce.

Im kinda torn between beefing up the tr6060 or fixing it cheap with a $100 used shaft, selling it and going 4L80e

a few guys going that way. 80s are stout. I took one out of my truck because reverse was starting to go and replaced it with a ZF6, but I needed more first gear with heavy 40 inch tires.

First in an 80 is like 2.41 so be aware of that. It might require a lot of stall to get out of the hole just to stay where you are. Probably should ask some of the guys running them how first gear is with their rear.

I would just mark this up as a random failure and move on. Plenty of stock 6060s holding a ton of power.
