turbo camaro costs???
im looking into buying a turbo charged camaro ss and i was just wondering how much does it cost to maintain it. are there any certain things u need to do?

Street car? Track car? How much power? Single or twin turbo? Is the engine built for the power? Intercooler type? What electronics does the car have? Turbo timer? How long has the system been on the car? What brand is/are the turbo (s)?
Anything done to the transmission or chassis? |

Turbonetics 76mm turbo, Borla ATAK exhaust, ZR1 cam, DOD delete, top end upgrades (springs, pushrods, bolts, etc), Boost a pump, injectors,Mildly tuned with 8psi 580hp and 585 tq 2012 v8 camaro

If you think in terms of worst case scenario then figure on rebuilding the turbo. Other than a cam failure, there really isn't any "extra" cost. The general rule of more power more money will always apply, but that power level isn't insane, and your far from stressing the stock bottom end.

I hardly wait at all. At 3k RPM's im already over 550wtq and close to full boost.

Very passé this kind of thinking, I still see this in SC vs Turbo threads.
It's all about size optimization, and optimum efficiency for given application, but even with variable vane technology, etc, some cars out there are at full powaaa, right off idle practically . I believe you! |
