GM did not fully fund the $900 million development budget requested by the Corvette team, so I refuse to support GM by fully funding a C7 purchase that is nothing more than a basic refresh done on a paltry $250 million budget. But, congratulations to GM for fleecing buyers with their partially funded C7.
On a positive note, the 6th Gen Camaro is finally all new Camaro worth buying since 1993 and it will have a reasonable base price, so I am excited for it.

I am so epically tired of you ranting on and on about AWD and DCT's and how inferior GM is with their refusal to build a car that you want. MOVE ON!!!!

I've seen your posts on the SS forum, where you banned multiple times, Corvette forums, a few different GM forums and even magazine chat boards. Don't you get bored of writing the same thing over and over? Did GM really wrong you so badly that you have devoted your life to this nonsense?

Also, why not use the TT-C6 screen name you use everywhere else? Already on the "instant ban" list?

Frankly, I really don't care about DCT and would prefer RWD. That said...did anybody else view cthis thread hoping to actually talk about the price?

I'm afraid a $2k addition to the purchase price of the as ($35k base) will push sales to the Mustang GT ($4k cheaper than that) even when the Camaro runs circles around it. Is anyone else? A lot of people (sure, not most on this site) care more having a V8 than the exact 0-60 time and to be honest I think it's a sharp looking car...

Price needs to be in line with Mustang. It shouldn't be more than 1500 dollars of difference for the base v8.

I wouldn't think it would be much more than $2k higher. I'm sure the marketing statement will be "If you could afford a 5th gen SS, you can afford a 6th gen SS" like they said with the C7. The C7 price didn't increase drastically and look how different it is compared to the C6.

Well, the first page or so was about price

I believe the SS is more than the GT in the previous generations no? So I would expect the new SS to also be a tad more, i believe the new stang went up in price....i mean everything goes up yes? But maybe, just maybe it will stay level - zeta camaro may have cost more just because they had to work a lot more to make it work??

Regardless, you have to be slightly impressed with what they say they are doing with the new 6amaro.

I think the C7 prices are ridiculous, especially considering the C7 is no major improvement over the C6.
The 6th Gen 1SS better keep the current price .
Then you got a deal. MSRP for the 2013 C6 base model was $49,600. Original MSRP for the 2014 C7 was $51,000.

That's a difference of $1,400.

I agree with this. Ford really upped their game with the 2015 Mustang. It's first Mustang that made a lot of people actually consider buying one.

It seems the Chevy will be the faster of the two both in a straight line and a track, but that's no surprise as historically and currently GM has been a half a step ahead of Ford in powertrains (both engine and transmission) and now more than ever, chassis development. The real question is styling and interior, which we will know soon enough. I do think Ford did a great job on the 15 interiors and expect no less from GM.

I see no reason for the Camaro to cost a little more than a "comparable" Mustang though. It is, hardware wise, a superior car in every aspect.

I think your reason is right there: the camaro is a superior car in every aspect
