I agree with this. I'm biased of course. I just went through the same decision. I think the new C7 is the best looking Vette in a long time. What I wanted was a C7/Z06 but I couldn't talk the wife into it. So instead I'm selling my '11 2SS and my new ZL1 gets built next week.

A lot of the wife's concern was the people. She likes the Camaro crowd so no Corvette for me. Honestly, I like the Camaro crowd too so I'm perfectly happy with the ZL1 choice. I guess I'm just a beer and peanuts kind of guy. Someone else can have the wine and cheese.

get the oldsmobile.. act your age.. or a caddy..

lol.. 50+ here.. i was hoping to get a vette before 50. missed it by that much.

love my SS. love the new vette but not going to try. I'll keep the SS and make it loud as hell.. in case my hearing aid fell out.

I love my Camaro, but its not even a contest. Get the Stingray. You won't regret it. As for it being an "old man's car", that's because most younger people can't afford one! It's a hell of a car in base form, and more bolt-ons coming every day...

Gotta be careful though. 1 in 5 Hellcats are totalled immediately after pulling off the lot.

I love the Camaro but am not getting any younger and it's more of a novelty than something I seriously drive. That said........thoughts?
The logic of the part in red says that the Stingray will fill the same spot in your life as the Camaro, all you're doing is swapping cars and cash for the same result.

Pulled it right outta my ass.

But seriously there have been a few stories of people wrecking them within hours of driving off the lot.

Isn't that just your own imagination - and what it thinks being in your early 50's should conform to - asking that question? I think you should sass it back with something like "Yes, really. Now go away." before making any hasty decision here.

Seven years ago this month I took delivery of the car you see in my avatar. I'll be 68 this coming fall, and aside from the occasional "mid-life crisis" internet discussion it hasn't once occurred to me that some people might actually consider my GT to have been an age-inappropriate purchase. Don't give a rat's ass if that's what anybody does think.

I have also driven a 7th gen 'Vette, for one hot lap on a road course, courtesy of Chevy and the Hooked On Driving track day organization. It's an amazingly capable car.

I have a 2011 Synergy Green Camaro and I totally love the car. I have owned some nice cars but I have never had a car that draws attention like a Synergy Green Camaro. However, if I could afford it and if my wife would let me (which she won't) I would trade our Synergy Green Camaro for a new 2015 Corvette in Laguna Blue Tintcoat with Chrome wheels.
