3.73 or 3.23 ?

I have the ZL1 Diff with 3.73 gears. LS3 and a Vortech V3si. With the TH400 the car put down 685RWHP /617 torque. Run a 9.95 at 135 in the 1/4

Building a 416 and going with a Paxton 2200X. Should be around 800rwhp 700+ torque.
Debating if the 3.23 gears would be better. Was thinking the extra torque would keep the 60’ and 1/8 mi time close to what I’m running now but pick up on the big end.
Also be better for Just driving around.

Anybody with experience with running these gears at this horse power?

I'd say stay with the 3.73's and see what rpm you are crossing the line at

What was the e.t on the 147 trap? I have a 4L80e and zl1 3.73 diff and also trap 147 at about 7k rpm in 3rd at the 1/4 stripe.

9.6 with a 1.5 60’. Had some issues like hitting rev limiter on the 1-2 shift. Played with timing got it to do a 1.4 60’ but it ate part the air filter damaging the blower that pass. I posted on your other thread.

I'd think the 3.73 would be better, I'd start with that.

Thinks for the comments. May stay with the 3.73. But also my try the 3.23 if I find a good deal on a ZL1 3.23 diff.
Like to hear from some one who has a TH400 and 3.23s

Bct10985 We are going to be using the same Supercharger. Just different names. What RWHP are you putting down to trap 147?

Not sure havent been on a dyno since it was a manual and a smaller blower. But im running a 3.15” blower and I think its a 8.25” crank pulley makes around 20lbs up top.

Personally I'd be surprised is 3.23s worked better. Usually centrifrugal blowers like RPM, and our cars are also heavy. You'd want to gear such to make the car with your shift points. Ideally you'd go thru the traps at or just past where you make peak HP (best part of your power band).

yall also need to consider if you are locking the converter in 3rd as OP will not have that ability causing his trap RPM to be quite a bit higher than yours at the same MPH
