thats what the dipping/tinting shop is for.

Really? You'd trust your new Camaro to be dismantled by a couple of window guys and you think it will be put back together just like it came from the factory?

Heck, based on my experiences, I have a hard time trusting the guys in the Chevy dealership's service department to do that, even with the proper GM service manuals and tools.

the difference between the service dept & a dipping shop is that the window guys are specifically in the business of pulling, tinting, & replacing the windows. it's their main job to put it back like it came out & make sure all the seals are correct.

Not to mention what zebra said; but i don't need all the windows done. To get through the loophole in our law, i just need the front side windows dipped. Simple as cake. I can dismantle and re-assemble the doors easy. I just need to find a place that can dip or spray the windows.
I've looked into it, and it's the only way around the law (exception of being allergic, but that won't fly without a doc's note. And that doesn't work, because "if i cause a wreck due to my tint, and the law checks out why tint is on the car, and it comes back to the doctor, they can lose their license." I also checked into it.

Dip the windows. Simple, if i can find a place that will do it. Supposedly the glass manufacture...

I've never heard of this notion that dipping your front windows will get you out of tickets as a way round State tinting laws. Frankly, I'm having a hard time believing this, but I'd do it in a heartbeat if it were the case.

Are you trying to go for the obsidian look? Why go through all that trouble for super dark tint only to risk the ticket? All of my vehicles were tinted the step just below legal (for that state) and I've never had a problem. On my Sonata (when stationed in MD) I put 35% on the doors and rear glass, and a 10% strip on the windshield. No one said anything.

OK. To clear things up. I'M CANADIAN. And here, in my province, the loophole in our law is that if the window is "factory tinted" is is legal. Factory tint counts if the window was taken out, "dipped", (or "sprayed") and re-installed. I know what i'm doing here, i just want to know if there are any window factories that are somewhat close to me. (South East Saskatchewan)

So far all i have is no, because no one here has obviously ever heard of it.
The exact same thing would be to order the Camaro sidewindows from a glass maker, already tinted. Same deal. Maybe Canada411 can help me...

Oh OK, you're CANADIAN, that's why!!
Here in the U.S.A. the cops know that the windows come from the factory with the laws obeyed. They know that the front seat windows and windshield can't be tinted lower than 4" from the top. They don't try to peel off the tint to see if it's legal or not.

I looked and haven't seen anything here about dipping windows, but have seen sprayed on. (In the USA)

Where is this place you heard about spraying on? Somewhere in Michigan?

no, I just Google'd it.
Looks like you can use the stuff to tint headlights and tail lights too.

The tint in factory glass is inside the glass, I don't know where you got your information, but a glass factory can't dip your glass to tint it. That implies the factory tint is an outside coating, it isn't.

Dipping is the term. It is still inside the glass. It is essentially a new window, with the tint in it, by trading in your old one. I've only heard a few people have done it, because it costs about $500 a window. So it would take tinting, and a few tint tickets to end up eventually equaling it, so people just sent for dipped windows.
But yea, the nightshades idea would be on the inside or outside.
I can't believe none of you have ever heard of this before?

I don't think it would work as a loophole in the states, and without the loophole why pay so much?
