You may want to consider an alternative unless you are sure they can do it right the first time.

Paint, paint, paint....and clearcoat after and you will never feel the edge or have wax stuck on it. None of that great factory orangepeel like in the pictures either. And they don't scratch when you dry them. And you can make them any color you want, and have them start and end where you think they should be.
For those who are perfectionists you are gonna be bummed when you someday have to peel of your $480 stripes and have them painted on anyway to meet your high standards of surface quality, shine and clean edges.

Unfortunately car is already sitting at 2000 (maybe 2500) and is ordered with the Black Rally stripes. Nothing I can do now but wait.

I don't know enough about stripes to know what the options are if the dealer messes up. Pull off and replace? Does it ruin the paint to do that?

What he said. The only difference thus far has been that the Cyber Gray or White stripes are "factory" installed although all stripes are going to be factory installed soon..... or so they say.

So my dealer will be installing my CGM stripes, i thought those were coming from the factory as well

For the rally stripes:

If you ordered B7W the factory will install them. (3rd party company that goes to the assembly plant to be more precise)

If you ordered VYY the dealer will installl them.

There was talk of the factory doing all the colors eventually but I have yet to hear of new codes for them to be ordered as factory installs.

but so far the reason my dealer said to get the stripes from the factory and not anywhere else was because it was painted on with clearcoat and not a damn sticker.

Sorry, but your dealer has no idea what he's talking about. They are ALL vinyl.

Hopefully that fire has been extinguished. But it is taking them an awfully long time to make all the new RPO stripe codes available. Thankfully I'm getting the B7W FACTORY installed DOUBLE rallies.

no it won;t ruin the paint. i have done that several times and not one pait problem... If they mess it up putting it on they have to eat the cost of replacing them. i am sure most dealers already have some contract with a stripe applicator. too many Non factory stripe packages I have see on new cars on the lots.
