OK, so I never actually got Borderlands. It's rare when I don't play or get a game.

I'm wondering if I need to play the original to understand Borderlands 2 (as far as storyline...if there is one).

As cheap as a used copy of borderlands is I would say pick one up and see if you like the game play before you spend 60 on the new one. As far as the story goes I am sure you would enjoy the new one without playing the first one. Let you know Tuesday for sure.....
