Nurburgring ZL1 1LE Car - Saw in person at Henry Ford Museum
I went on a short vacation last week over by Detroit area (had to make a visit to Katech with my 2007 Z06). While over there we went to the Henry Ford Museum. GM sponsored a new large area in the museum called "Driven to Win"
This area is all about performance cars. To my surprise sitting there is the 2018 ZL1 1LE test car that was used to set the Nurburgring lap time. It has the race seats and roll bar still installed in it. Here are some pics I thought I would share!

Nonetheless, it is cool that the OP had the chance to check it out in-person. Last edited by MBSS1LE; 06-10-2021 at 11:05 AM. |

It's probably a typo because I believe the official curb weight is actually 3820lbs for a ZLE. So they transposed the middle two digits. Easy to do when typing something like that up.

Otherwise the rest of the Museum is more of total historical museum and even has a lot of displays that are totally unrelated to cars. There was a historical furniture display, a huge locomotive train that was the largest steam engine made, there was cultural history displays, the chair president Lincoln was shot in, The Rosa Parks bus, and even a "Generations" exhibit that displayed popular items and such from the different generations like "baby boomers", "generation X", etc.... It is a neat museum to visit and I think it's a museum that the entire family can enjoy.

Too bad the Camaro team didn't get approval to take the ZL1 1LE A10 over there. If weather was similar, it would have beat the time from the M6.
