I guess my hold up is I don’t ever track the car and it does get driven in town frequently but 75% of its miles are on the highway in the middle of no where. I read the posts where guys bitch and moan about low speed manners and then I see others say it’s the best thing they’ve done to the car. I do understand that the tune is a huge part to all this, but I can’t decided if I want to risk the drivability of the car for the bad ass wide open performance.

Stop light to stop light against all the irritating Challengers around here would be fun for sure with a stall.

So, I daily mine every day in snow, rain, etc. My commute is mostly highway too...and it's still the best mod I've done..........so far.

My car has never been to the drag strip either...

Gotcha, I grew up about 10 minutes from Harpers Ferry I bet 95 is fun on a Saturday or Sunday morning when there’s less traffic. It does make me feel a little better about it knowing you daily it with how bad the traffic can be around Washington and Baltimore both. I want to bring mine out there one of these summers and rip up some of the windy back roads.

That would be awesome. Thank you.

BTW, based on your video I think I may have a hard time staying out of jail after I get a stall. That is just nuts how quickly it gets to the powerband.

Hahaha, that's too true! I'm on Circle D's best DD stall (the 3200 278mm) and it rips. I compared it to the higher stalled converters and I'm definitely leaving power on the table, but I think mine STILL is ridiculous!

Heres a video I made for you guys. I tried to include some normal driving, and I tried to give it some gas once but the roads were wet and I spun the whole time, both times I gave it some decent throttle, then I showed (at about 1:58 into the video) what its like at 1500 rpm, if purposely trying to keep it at 1500 just to do so. The car can barely accelerate to 7mph. Then I show why that doesn't matter too much, since under normal acceleration, the converter flashes to about 2600 rpm and you get up and go very easily under normal throttle. Then the power is there when you want to mash it, and I need it to get me into my power band, since I make peak torque at 4900rpm and peak horsepower at 7600rpm. If anything, I feel I don't have enough converter and could benefit from a 5k or higher.

I included a little bit of what it looks like, RPM wise, at 55 mph and 70 mph. One thing I wish I had done was a brake stall to show RPMs there, before the tires break loose from a dead stop. I may do another, better one tomorrow. Enjoy the boring video!

That actually does help a lot. It seems to behave pretty well when you need it to.

I think I could find a way to handle that. Seriously, it just look likes it takes some getting used to like any other mod. It will be hard for me to ignore that there is a relatively cheap mod out there that can change and enhance the performance of my car so dramatically. Also, for some of us curious ones, we need to keep in mind you have a higher stall already than most of us would get, so it would likely be even more manageable.

Damn Chris, your car is a monster. Thank you for taking the time to make that for us. Really appreciated.

No problem guys! Yeah it just takes a little getting used to, accepting the fact that it won't handle/feel like stock. Thats really a change I welcomed. My thought was, well, why would I mod it just to have it feel like I hadn't. The SS4/4k stall/3.91/LOD intake combo is a good one and has worked well for me, and is a decent foundation for my end goals. It was what GPI recommended so I took it and ran with it, and am happy with the street manners.

What kind of dyno numbers are you putting down with that setup? I agree you’ve got a nasty car for sure. Also did GPI tune it for you or did you have a local shop do it? My biggest fear is I live in east bfe and even though there’s a couple of tuners around, I don’t know how well I trust them with this kind of tuning. Especially since it seems Several guys on here may have not the best tunes on there cars with a stall. I’m thinking I’ll probably just end up doing the email tune from GPI.

483rwhp @ 7600rpm and 408 ft/lbs @ 4900rpm and I had GPI tune the car. Ryan did my original tune, then when I had the LOD intake put on, Ben did my recent tune. I live 5 and 1/2 hours from GPI so I make the drive
