Best Easy Mods for the Z/28

Ok, the car is now paid for and the Z/28 is still fun to drive, but your bored and want something new. You don't want to spend a bundle, you don't want to get a new car - so what can you do to make the Z/28 "New to you" again?

I have a surplus of cash but don't want to ruin the core value or what the Z/28 is - so no super chargers please.

What have you done to your Z/28 (pictures please) that makes the Z special to you?

Thanks for indulging me with your ideas.

Even though the exhaust is pretty good on the Z I would change it out front to back. The mod would be easily reversed and provide better sound and little more torque. I think a cold air intake is a waste. An autoblip since you appear to track yours, another great mod. Depending on the cash you want to put down, port the factory heads or buy a set and swap them out. Same for the cam and intake. Depending on how deep your pockets are you can always reverse them or let them go with the car when and if you decided to sell 20 years from now. Im pretty deep into mine at this point, the second one is a roller but if I could own 3 Id not touch it and enjoy it for what it is.

ive been trying to do mostly minor cosmetic upgrades personally. carbon fiber bits, fog lights, some cute floor mats lol. this car in its stock form if were all being honest, is truly fantastic and modding it is hardly a necessity since out of the box its just great. thats why personally ill continue to do cosmetic "mods" and spruce up the interior however i can....i would like to get some sort of catback exhaust though. sometimes i feel it sounds sort of restricted or at least not as aggressive as it could/should be

Some great ideas! I'm thinking of gradually adding things to help keep it "new to me". I realized along time ago I get bored easily, so if I do it all at once then (I know this will cost more doing it this way) I'll want to buy something new. Then I'll regret selling it a year later!

I'm thinking HP isn't a factor right now because I'm not tracking (don't have time) so looks an sound might be the way to go for now.

So, keeping that in mind... stainless long tube header system with CATTED X pipe & racing cams. Any recommendations?

I track mine but do a lot of DD as well. Check out my mods.. The oil cooler keeps oil temps in the 220s- even on the hottest track days. Such a fun car.

Slippery slope! Once you are into it that far you might as well do more....

My favorite "best easy mod" was adding an new gas pedal that made heel to toe so much easier. Two screws.

The lists above seem a galaxy far far away from "easy".

I will say that the cheapest and easiest mod you can do is to remove the exhaust fuse. As a matter of fact it’s free
