Just think about how bad those flaws would be if humans did it.

I don't like the orange peel in my paint, but the only other option is to spend $10-20K to get it repainted the right way.

I got rid of my orange peel myself, took 22 hours of wet sanding...a detailer friend would charge me about 1000 to do it. You can reduce it 80pct but not totally, to keep it within safe limits. With a paint thickness gauge, I reduced it about 1.5 mikes, left a lot to be safe. CquartzUK put back a mike or so:
The final look, much better:

Sure Glen: I was actually helping him as well.
The car was pretty clean so we didn't have to wash it.
We clayed the whole car using a clay lube even the wheels and glass.
Then we taped off the area's that needed to be protected like the grills and vents.
Then he polished the whole car panel by panel with working on the problem spots longer with a polisher. then we used the orbital last.
Then sense I don't wash it that often we didn't use sealer instead we used some very expensive carnauba wax.
We put four coats on it waiting a half hour after the first coat then putting the wax on and waiting another twenty minutes to let is set. we did this 4 times. then I used two microfiber blankets to cover it and then put my car cover over that. We spent about 11.5 hours on it and I was beat!
To maintain it I use detailer and put my distilled water bottle in my ice chest on hot days so it won't streak. when it needs cleaning I use the water and then go over it with his detailer.
Everything comes from Chemical brothers.
That's it.
I can tell you the names of the products I used if you like.
hope that helped.

Cool! I've never got carnauba to last more than 3 months here in fla, but your results speak for themselves...looks great...congrats!

I saw this, this morning and could not help adding a couple more C7's that were at that show. I was also at Vette Magic and also took a 1st in Stock Class. No extra rubbing just a good wax job. Mine is the one on the right.
