So you guys think the Demon is slow because a modded ZL1 beat it? Really guys? I mean, that is the dumbest shit I've heard. The ZL1 with those mods probably has more HP to the wheels and is about 400 pounds lighter. So it walks away from the Demon and automatically that makes the Demon "slow". Ok so when a Mustang fanby shows up with a modded and boosted GT and beats a ZL1 then I'll guess that ZL1s will be slow at that point too right?

And while everyone was fapping to this video it seems like nobody noticed that the Demon was short-shifting like a MFer. Still in the break-in period perhaps? Look at that last race and see how short he shifted those gears. I can go WOT and stay in gear much much longer than that in my HC. So I'm just sayin, if any of you wanna think the Demon is slow or that this video is somehow a representation of how racing them will go then you are mistaken. Get that Demon out of break-in period, put both of those two cars on a road with less traffic, let them get an actual run instead of this sloppy nonsense in the video and I think this entire story might be different. Remember, the Demon has 808 HP. I don't care about the weight, if anyone thinks that 808 HP in a Muscle Car is slow then you're in the wrong hobby.

I do love my A10. But I also miss a manual. The very well known bog scared me off.

Except for the Demon version, any stock Hellcsat is a drivers race with the A10 ZL1. Seen a bunch of them run at Atco. Hero runs do favor the Hellcat but only a little.

But I'm already sick of people throwing around the Demon name like it's actually a competitive car. It's a 4400 pound WHALE that makes 800 HP and only makes more under very specific circumstances. All of the drag features it has are hard to use and only work well at the drag strip. Launch Control sucks, people are getting 3.6 seconds, 3.9 seconds and the like on the street. All and all, it's just slow. Now we just have to find a way to get it disqualified from the record books. 9.6, 2.3 second 0-60, my ass.
I have a friend who owns a Demon. With 91 octane and the 808 hp with sticky tires (M/T radial SS) the car runs 6.60@104+ in the 1/8th mile.
With the same tires and the 840HP tune the car it runs 6.40 @ 108+ in the 1/8th mile with 100 unleaded. It has run 9.92@136+ in the 1/4 mile. I agree it isn't 9.65 but that was run in 45* temps with countless attempts at track prep. I haven't seen any ZL1 run anywhere near that on tire alone. Just saying. That isn't internet buzz, it is what I have personally witnessed in many trip to the track on a weekly basis. I suspect the upcoming ZR1 may be closer.

This is my friends car I mentioned in an above post. He has been getting booted from the tracks regularly as of late. Rules apply at the track. It would suck to be on the edge knowing that if the weight of the rollbar is added that the car likely won't ever run the number again.

Just an FYI that car had the race gas tune, skinnies and better drag radials on it. It will take an something resembling an ATCO winter track rental to run Dodge's numbers.

Oh they’re definitely faster than a ZL1 I’m not doubting that. Key part of speed is consistency. The Demon and Hellcat are both quite inconsistent due to the very high power, low traction/torque management, and a joke of a tire in case of the Hellcat.

It’s very much all in the driver though. Your average driver who just knows how to buy the car will have no idea how to pilot a car like a Demon to max potential.

As already stated, is a modified car vs a stock car a fair comparison? Slow??? I remember when running 13s was considered fast, lol. Whether the Demon runs a high 9 or a low 10, it is definitely not slow. It will pretty much kill anything else on the street.

That being said, it's nice to see that the ZL1 runs so strong with simple mods.

The car is running 9s stock, with full warranty in place. Anyone who discounts this yet praises 11s out of the ZL1 in blinded by Fanbois vision. Like I said earlier they should be worried about the Hellcat A8 widebody, and any A8 Hellcat on DRs

I've not seen one video of a stock demon running 9s other than the "hero" promo. Every other one is running D/Rs +.

Not discounting the awesome power of the car but 99% of the Demon owners out there will never run 9s stock.

For the record, hell yes it's quicker in the 1/4 than a ZL1. Anyone who thinks otherwise is nuts.

"Hero" run/promo is a huuuge understatement. The amount of track prep performed for that run is astronomical.
