I hate to say it, but I think you might be correct. They've trimmed down on drivetrain options and truck configurations, and have done cost cutting here and here of course, but we all know the price is gonna go up.

I hope the most popular trims (WT, LT, Z71) can stay in the ball park, but I see a big increase for ZR2 for whatever reason.

I think the big winner (of increases) is going to be the Canyon Denali. The last Denali...although I really liked it, didn't really offer a whole lot of Denali wow factor. If they try to impress with Denali this time around I see the price going significantly higher than the 2022 Denali which start at a hair under $43K.

Speaking of GMC, that stupid new "forced" subscription into so many years of OnStar is going to add even more on top. Yeah, I don't like that.

We all know when it comes to the full size trucks, at MSRP you can't really even get into a regular LT crew 4x4 for less than 51 or 52K.

I’m considering the new ZR2 but man that prop rod leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It’s such a dumb decision by GM.

Especially with carry over cost cutting measures from existing truck (entire rear window assembly, same bulky 3rd brake light, same roof antenna, etc), they went further backwards on the prop rod compared to the existing truck. Is it possible the production truck will be different? I think we expect too much from the midsize segment. Look at what Nissan/Toyota have done over the years. That being said, I am guessing they were given a limited budget and used it where it counted most, advancing off-road prowess and new interior.

If you don't like subscriptions, you're going to hate what all the automakers have planned for you in the future. Oh wait, you wanted to roll down all 4 windows, that'll be 20 bucks a month. On the bright side, i'm trying desperately to find one, they can add features, fix flaws, while the vehicle sits in your driveway.

looking back on the video and there may not even be a reasonable mounting point for hood struts - may be design necessity to have a prop rod. There were probably significant engine bay shrinkages since only 1 engine option

Man, you weren't kidding. I had no idea it was this bad....Oh well, I'm done with new vehicle purchases anyhow...This stuff, though, is the worst idea yet (other than going all EV...lol)....Good luck. I hate this tech crap anyway. Certainly will never buy a new GM car or truck where I have to subscribe for three years or whatever....sheesh. What in the hell are they thinking?

(But I'm sure they had to have decided to do this five or six years ago in some meeting no-one ever heard of, so it must be a great idea from all the research and forecasting they had to do.)

At what point are prices high enough that you pick a side by side for fun over a ZR2? And mod one of them or get a Polaris.

Taking the pro prop rod side. It could end up like a Silvy WT with: button-start, touch-screen, auto-dim mirror, hood struts, and then: no seat height lever, and no telescoping wheel. Useless things instead of functional ones.

Same here. we bought a XLT Crew Cab Ranger with the Turbo 4/7700 lbs tow capacity (2WD) in March.

I like the Chevy instrumentation, vents etc better than Fords. And if Chevy makes this Colorado WITHOUT the auto start/stop feature then I'll trade it in. That's the worst feature in my Ranger.

Believe it has auto start stop that has to be disabled each time you start up.
