Compact truck: Chevy Montana
Not a lot of info about this truck. Wondered if anyone knew anything about it. Seeing as how Hyundai and Ford have their compact trucks and they seem to be pretty receptive in the US. Did a little research on the ford maverick. The 2.0l ecoboost puts out 250hp and 277tq. Not sure I care about the hybrid option.

It's on GEM so debatable whether or not it comes here.

Since it's based on a similar platform as Trailblazer, even if they brought it stateside, would it's, no doubt similar, powertrain options (1.2T and 1.3T), along side the 1000lb tow capacity, and 1200lbs payload be enough to draw buyers?
The '04-'21 are on Gamma I believe. The '22+ is on VSS-F derived GEM, so yeah, Fenwick has a point about its potential for coming stateside.

Watching the video from GM Brazil, it does appear to have a much better trimmed interior than your typical GEM based vehicle.
We'll see. Bringing this stateside to compete with Maverick is a no brainer in my opinion.

I suppose if it substantially undercut Maverick in MSRP it could have a chance. It's just with it's possible specs and GEM's apparent lack of utilizing AWD, I don't know.
Maybe if they put it on VSS-S... but at that point it's going to almost be a completely different vehicle. Add to that gm's lack of interest in offering hybrids, would likely make it a really hard sell to anyone that isn't a diehard "Chevy or nothin" buyer.

I would buy this in a heartbeat. I have the Camaro as my toy vehicle and a Malibu for my work vehicle. I really want a truck, but three vehicles for just me living in town is a bit ridiculous. Add in my wife’s and 2 kids that are now driving we’d have 6 vehicles
I have a Malibu because I get paid mileage and it gets almost 40mpg on the highway, I make money with that car. I thought about a Colorado, but the fuel mileage isn’t great. Might as well get a Silverado. If this could get similar mileage to the Maverick that could be my next work vehicle. Do it GM! I think there’s a market. I’ve always thought the Colorado platform was too large when they eliminated the S10. It didn’t really have any benefits compared to the Silverado other then being a bit smaller for folks I guess that didn’t like navigating a full size. Price wasn’t much better, fuel mileage wasn’t much better, I never really saw the point of the midsize Colorado.

As soon as I saw the pic I thought it was a Honda Ridgeline. Would like to see more small size pickup options. Honestly I like some parts of the Hyundai Santa Cruz style, yeah yeah I know. Would like to see more manufacturers offer similar offerings.
