It may sound odd but I'm so looking forward to going under the knife next Thursday to get this over with. Not only am I not working out, I'm not doing much of anything, the hernia has been getting worse, even walking is uncomfortable now so I've been doing very little, boy this sucks.
Man, that sucks.
Good luck with the surgery and I hope for a speedy recovery. It must be killing you not to be working out. I wouldn't know what to do with myself!

Good to see you're getting back into it. How's your ankle/leg feeling?

This morning. First time in several months. Got cleared yesterday from the doc after my hernia surgery. Did some treadmill work, and very light benching. Felt like a weakling...since pre-op, after warming up, I was benching 225-275 for sets/reps. Oh well...so long to get in shape and so quick to lose it!

I'm going in for my hernia surgery on Thursday, I was hoping to recover more quickly than several months, wishful thinking I guess.

You'll be recovered in a short amount of time...that's how long it had been bothering me and keeping me out of the gym. My doc said no lifting anything over 40 pounds for a month, which was yesterday. Now I just need to take it slow. I guess it will depend on the severity of your hernia also.

I've had two hernia surgeries before, both Inguinal as is this one, they were also more severe than this but the last was about 10yrs ago. Recoop time was a bit long then but I'm hoping this won't be as long. Time will tell I guess.

Well this is really weird.

When I bowl I feel fine during bowling for the most part but then it hurts later when I relax. It hurts where you'd expect a groin injury to hurt. Weird part is that when I do a sit up it hurts in my lower abdomen but when I take a long step it hurts in my groin area.

I can not make it hurt by feeling around with my hands nor can I feel anything out of the ordinary. I can ONLY feel it when I use my muscles. Been about 7 months now.

I'm no doctor but it doesn't sound like a hernia, hernia's are when your organs protrude through tears or weak spots in the fascia and are localized to the weak area or tear. Perhaps you should see a doctor, don't listen to me, I'm a mechanic/machinist. lol.

I did read where inguinal hearnias are hard to tell by a physical examination. I'm not sure. Whatever it is does not really bother me much but right after I bowl.

My doctor missed mine and it was quite obvious to me as it was two protrusions the size of walnuts but they went back in before my doctors visit, the surgeon spotted it in a heart beat.
