The thing is, it's not because i'm not qualified. Just that the company (Dillard's) might be only allowed one intern, which apparently was already promised to someone. I applied at the end of January and met with the manager in the beginning of February. I feel that's wrong of them to do that. If you had already promised to someone, don't keep me in limbo.

A lot of places have to hold public hiring processes for compliance reasons, both internal and external (speculation).

It's not fair, but it is what it is.

Unfortunately legal discrimination is pretty common these days. Anyone who says that all hiring is fair and equal is either a liar or hasn't been in the markets lately.

I definitely want something to handle extreme wet conditions, as we travel a lot across country. I can remember going through the Appalachian mnts a couple years ago, and it was raining so hard, you could barely see the car in front of you. Water flooding the road, traffic moving about 40 mph and the car did not even flinch. She was stuck to the road, as about as tight as my butt cheeks were clinched to the seat. I have never had a set of tires perform that good, in those conditions. The Vorti's are supposed to be even better in wet conditions (along with improved traction in Dry conditions).

Gonna look into those as they've got me curious now. I don't think I've ever driven in rain that hard before but I can tell you right now that winter tires are absolutely crap in the rain. Aqua plane at 75-80 mph and my ass was about to rip the leather off the seat.

Lol around here they try to sell you on how it's free mount and balance and there's no disposal fee. Yet ordering from tire rack you still come out saving money.

Even though they typically charge a bit more..I tend stick with Les Schwab for my tires.
