I see your point, but no need to be disrespectful to the death of Paul Walker.

He had to get a dealer's license because he was buying and selling so many cars. They guy was a true enthusiast.

Oh yeah of course. His car collection was more than just impressive, it felt borderline historic, having cars I've personally never seen before in person like the BMW M1 which as a young child back in the day was my absolute #1 favorite. He certainly will be missed.

Well "Dude" the part I was disagreeing with was calling Paul Walker "the James Dean of our time". The Academy Awards credits I listed was just to illustrate the 3 all time great films that James Dean stared or co-stared in his short acting career. No you didn`t say PW was a legendary actor nor was it my intention to imply that you did....JD was a legendary actor, PW in time may become that too, although from a tragic accident in the same brand of car was my point of comparison.

Have a good day, Mick

Though I see your point Mick, I see the side that Skooter is talking about, which I agree with. Sure PW may not be an academy award winning actor, well hell, neither has Leonardo Di Caprio, Robert Downey Jr, Harrison Ford, Edward Norton, Samuel Jackson, or Johnny Depp, and they seem to be a pretty damn good group of actors if I may say so (can you tell I'm a film buff too?). Doesn't matter if he's a great actor or not, I think I can speak for most of us in saying that F&F movies were something we all appreciated, regardless if they were award winning or not.

Regardless, I don't think this should be a conversation on a comparison between two people. PW did his thing, and though he wasn't necessarily recognized for making award winning movies, I think I speak for a lot of us out there who say, If it wasn't for that movie, with PW staring, I don't think a lot of us would be paying so much attention to our cars. I think a huge percentage of us wouldn't have as much of a passion into cars as we do now.

I can pretty much say myself that if it wasn't for the F&F movies having such an impact on myself, I wouldn't be where I am today trying to explain all this. I think we should get back on track, and try to remember him for who he was, and not who he coincidentally, had a similar crash to.

I live only a few miles from where the crash happened. The area is well known to the car crowd as a spot where you can have some fun, without endangering the public, when done late at night. If you use Google maps, you can see evidence of burnouts, doughnuts and other hoonage at the corner of Constellation and Hercules.

It is unfortunate that something as innocent as a toy drive for charity ends in tragedy like this. Hopefully it helps others make smart decisions when enjoying our cars on the street.

Unfortunately for the enthusiasts in California, this tragedy will no doubt be used to pass stricter laws regarding reckless/dangerous driving and street racing. Just as there was a massive crackdown following the street racing explosion that followed the original Fast film. Hopefully enthusiasts and the community can work together to try and prevent things like this from happening again. My thoughts and condolences to the friends, families and fans of both Roger and Paul.

You wanna pay tribute to James Dean, or to argue that he was better than Obama? Then go somewhere else with that worthless crap. We're here to pay honor to two men who tragically lost their lives doing what most of us love to do.

Agreed... I have a good friend who started a program called Street Racing Made Safe (SRMS) down here in Miami. The purpose of this program is to setup controlled "street races", where local kids and adults can bring their cars and battle each other out for fun. It definitely has helped cure that "itch" some of us have about street racing. Unfortunately, this event hasn't stopped others from street racing. That is something that will probably never stop.

One thing people that were influenced by the Fast and Furious movies need to learn from this is Life is not a movie. There are no retakes when things go wrong.

unfortunately in southern California, they crack down on street racing and close our local race tracks. The closest 1/4 mile track from where the accident occurred used to be in Palmdale/Lancaster at LACR. Then we started going to California Speedway in Fontana, but you couldn't go faster than 10.0000 there and now that track has been closed (temporarily we hope) due to noise and enviromental concerns (but NASCAR isn't too loud or negatively effects the environment). So the only place I know of is Famoso in Bakersfield 100 miles away.
I'm not saying street racing is ok, or that driving like an asshole on the street is ok either. But when all of you legitimate racing options are a long drive or cost prohibitive (Willow Springs, Button Willow, Fontana Raceway), this is the end result.

The automotive community needs to band together and get safe, legal places to race and enjoy our cars. This is not limited to drag strips, I am talking about all forms of motor racing.

I had an idea I wanted to throw at you guys and see what you thought. In the 90's everyone, everywhere was cracking down on skateboarding. People were issued citations for loitering, vandalism and trespassing for just trying to enjoy their sport/hobby. So, communities built skate parks for skateboarders, rollerbladers and BMX riders to enjoy. Why can't a small portion of public funds be spent on the automotive equivalent of a skate park? Supplemented by revenue from the Autosports Park (I kinda like the ring of that).

Hot Rodding was born in southern California, but now it seems committed to killing it. If our lifestyle is something we want to protect and pass to future generations, the time to act is now.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to rant or hijack this thread. The most important thing here is two family men and auto enthusiasts lost their lives in an entirely preventable accident. RIP Roger and Paul

So sorry to hear of his untimely death. As a fellow artist of the arts I truly appreciated his work both on screen and off screen. R.I.P Mr. Walker:(

So can someone on here give me an honest answer of what the hell is a matter with these news casters & all these friggggin entertainment programs? A great movie actor and friendly man plus a fund raiser for a lot of charities. And all these news people are worried about is who is going to take his place. Do you think this is the end of the Tuner movies of Fast & Furious. In my opinion just a bunch of stupid sick A$$ people that don't care about anything buy who can get the best story. And don't care how they get it either.

R.I.P. Paul Walker You will be missed bro.

More Paul Walker quotes they give you an insite to the man behind the actor.

I want to get married. I think about it a lot. But I also think about my cars, so maybe my priorities aren't exactly in line just yet.

You know, all that really matters is that the people you love are happy and healthy. Everything else is just sprinkles on the sundae. - in Flaunt Magazine, July 2001.

Some people say that you should go to all the parties, to the nightclubs, the Viper Room, and make contacts, and I look at them and say, 'You don't want to have contacts with those people.' Look at what happened to River Phoenix (who died in 1993 of a drug overdose outside the Viper Room). If you get caught up in that, it ruins you. Hollywood is garbage.

Surfing soothes me, it's always been a kind of zen experience for me. The ocean is so magnificent, peaceful, and awesome. The rest of the world disappears for me when I'm on a wave.

I'm into being a dad, that's where my focus is most of the time. I'm an actor that's my job, but it's not my life. I have a lot of other interests too.

Life's too short. And the biggest curse is falling in love with somebody.

I'm a Christian now. The things that drove me crazy growing up was how everyone works at fault-finding with different religions. The people I don't understand are atheists. I go surfing and snow boarding and I'm always around nature. I look at everything and think, 'Who couldn't believe there's a God? Is all this a mistake?' It just blows me away.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0908094/b...otes/nq0073539

(2010) I'm passionate about animals and I hunt too. It's like I save and I kill. I'm a walking, talking contradiction. I'm all about preserving the environment but I'm racing cars on the weekend. I tell everyone I'm a gun-loving hippy.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0908094/b...otes/nq0078925

[on "The Fast & the Furious" series]: When I did the first one, it was a cool movie where I got to run around in race cars, shoot a gun and kiss a hot chick. That's where I was at in my life then. Now that I'm older, there's a reason we're still here. The themes we hit on early on, whether the audience even realized what it was that was drawing them in, is irrelevant. The second you lose the family, how significant are we? It's funny to see the people connect with it the way they do. I had no clue, I didn't get it. And now, more I get it and I see it.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0908094/b...otes/nq0130221

[on Brian O'Conner, his character in "The Fast & the Furious" films]: The guy's a sucker for family. Brian's a heart guy, he just is. He's dealing with daddy issues and the things that most of us are that are unresolved. What he's looking for, and he wouldn't be able to articulate it, is anything that's going to allow for healing, things that he's missed out on.

What's Dom really representative of to him? He's the father and the older brother he never had. It's not a buddy. Brian doesn't even realize it. He gave up on having that kind of family or life before he even knew it was possible, and I don't think he ever thought it could be as great as what he has.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0908094/b...otes/nq0130222

[on working on Hours (2013)]: What I've found recently is the heart, the soul, whatever you want to call it, it doesn't differentiate: If you really live the experience making a movie, it's the same as living it in real life, as crazy as it sounds. My victory in that movie was my victory in real life. You walk away with that, walking a little taller and a pop in your collar. You learn a lot about yourself. It's heroic in a different way. We're pretty awesome when we're tested. Call it the human spirit or whatever you want, I like celebrating our victories.

Wow man, I'm sorry to hear you can't enjoy your car like you want. I don't know what o would do if I couldn't go to my local 1/4 mile track to enjoy an afternoon/evening of racing.
